The dealer called this week and had a canyon copper seuc available. I was all stoked couldn't wait to get over there and see it, and of course bring it home this weekend... I walk in the door and I am in love with the bike, the motor, the chrome, and god dammit I want it, but what do you mean it isn't red? Every picture that I have seen of it, it is the prettiest, deep red color that I want, than I see it in the sun and it is more orange. now don't get me wrong it is still pretty but it just isn't what I expected. I feel like a four year old in a candy store full of sugar free treats.... I want it but why cant the Mo Co just see the color I want and make it just for me... lol...
so I have a few days until I have to official turn it down. So I put it out how crazy am I for turning it down... an extra note curiosity always killed the cat so maybe I should wait for the '09.... but I want to ride to sturgis..... alright I am starting to sound like the four year old!
Hey, I understand. Last summer when the 08's first showed up on the HD web site, it looked RED to me. And, I really wanted a RED bike. I finally found one close, and drove about two hours to get a look. I had been on the edge of buying a new SEUC for a couple of years, but the paint for the past few years really didn't do anything for me (except maybe the Autumn Haze).
Anyway, when I walked back in the shop where they were just starting to get the bike set up, I was kinda taken back when I saw the color in person. I had my heart set on RED and then saw ORANGE. I had to look at it for several minutes - walk around it - look it over. It wasn't RED, but it looked great. I really like the Copper Canyon. It's an unusual color - kinda changes in different types of light. I get a lot of good comments on the paint.
I never keep any bike (or vehicle) very long. I know that in 2 - 4 years I'll probably sell it and get a new bike (maybe RED??).
I also know that HD will be changing the motors - no question - EPA regulations are going to force it. So, in a few years, when they have had a couple of years to work the bugs out of the next motor (hopefully!), I will be getting a new bike again.
