At 7 or even 11 you could start your own chain of stores.

Question about the 113 option. The SE catalog has a 113 kit listed but has a note saying this can not be installed on a 110 CVO motor. Is this the 113 kit you guys where talking about or someone elses kit?

Thanks.

I don't think they'd be using that kit on Ken's '07CVO. The bike has a hi flow A/C, and heavy duty clutch already. He'd be using all the top end parts they describe though. He also needs a new bottom end, and I wouldn't use that POS HD crank if they paid me to. He also needs a new oil pump, cam plate, throttle body, push rods, lifters, etc. He should be (better be) getting a brand new 113 engine out of this deal, not just a 113 conversion! ;)

They don't want the 113" reputation at risk by installing the kits anywhere near a 110 leaker.

I've got a headache again. Talked to my service/engine guy just now. He read that same footnote and called HD tech. The 110 uses an O-Ring? The 113 uses a gasket? Whenever you bore out the cases, you cut into the o-ring groove, but not completely cutting it out. According to HD Tech, some people have problems with it leaking, others don't. He's tearing the cylinders off the 110 to measure for himself. Has anyone else been through this already?

Changed my mind again. Screw all this engine building. I told the dealer to just get me a new 110 engine. We'll see if it'll happen.

It's spring and he wants to ride, now.

Hope it works out well Ken.  And hope the dealer keeps working hard on your behalf.

Ken,
Sorry to hear about the @*&^!* differences between the 110 and 113.  Hope you get a new engine relatively quickly.  I know how bad you need to be in the wind.  I just got mine back yesterday after they installed the "new and improved"  "B" gasket.  We'll see how long that one lasts before the head starts leaking.   :nixweiss:

ANOTHER 110 BITES THE DUST!!!!

Well it is now riding season. I think I might have just gone with a new Jim's 120 motor and pulled the 110 out. It seems if you have a good one good luck still it starts to give you problems. HD is trying to band aid this motor. I can't wait to see what HD comes up with in 2009.

The money it would take to repair the issues with the motor would not bother me. As long as it is taken care of during the winter months.

Be Safe

I just had a simular problem with a tight crank. I really trust the motor man at my dealer he's a perfectionist .He said a new motor from harley probally be like the old motor so so spec's and not knowing in liners straight, crank true.He just fixed my motor new crank(If I had more time I would have done a s-s cranks like hoist said)and trued it said it was one of the better ones from harley, juggs bored .010 over to straighten out(harley sent ones that he wouldn't install till straightened),new pistons, and a fresh valve job with valves lapped in(not just assbl. like fact.) so now I know what I have and so far it's alot snappier and seams to run cooler, and alot stronger than before. So if you trust your motor man that might be a option.I feel I made the right choice . If something were to happen again ,s-s crank would go in .I bought the 7 year extended service plan so harley will just have to fix the last seuc with throttle cables for a while because I plan to keep this one for a long while.GOOD LUCK AND RIDE SAFE JDO
