And now the truth......
Rode up to Twin Peaks in San Francisco and shut my bike off. Now keep in mind that I have always had my bike programmed so that the alarm sets automatically. I go take care of whatever business I was there for and come back to the bike. Out of habit, I've already got the keys out and pressing the key fob as I'm approaching the bike but I don't see the turn signals flash. Uh-ohhhh.

I messed around with it for quite awhile before I finally surrendered to the fact that I was not going to be successful in getting it to disarm. I walked back down to the drugstore and bought a battery (pricey little things). Walked back to the bike and still nothing. Oh crap, now what?
Oh yea, we're able to disarm it by using the turn signals. Get into the saddle bags to look for the owner's manual and remember that I took it out the day before (looking at something or other) and left it laying on the coffee table.
I call Jim and he finally walks me through it and I get the bike disarmed and I get home to my manual. Called the dealership the next day and they suggest that I buy another battery (remember, we're always supposed to try the easiest thing first......and we've all had an experience with bad batteries from the mfg.). Yep, that's all it was.....YEP, they have a battery and when they go, they go right now!
