Ok...

'04's came in O/B & B/B they didn't come from the MoCo w/any tourpak, but Chopped or King TP are available in both colors.

'05's came in Yellow, Cherry, and Teal, they have the vented lowers, and came w/a chopped TP.

Other then the vented lowers, color difference, and addition of the chopped TP they are the same bike(s).

You wouldn't by some chance have a bias towards red now would you  :P.

I don't think I have ever seen 1 without a tour pack.  Guess I just assumed they came with them.....

I try to be very objective about such things.  Only trying to help with such a difficult choice.

Interesting about your mention of not seeing 04s without tour paks.  Hadn't thought about before but a lot of the group here had added them at some time or another.  Would be interesting to see a breakdown of choices for chopped versus King for the addition when it truly was an owner's choice like that.

Oh, and one other addition on the '05's is it has the "Scissor Hand" rack (aka Stealth Luggage Rack) under the tourpak.

Couple factors that weighed heavily on my decision were...

1. I only planned on using it for travel so the extra space of the KTP was needed.

2. It was $100 more for a Chopped vs KTP. Couldn't understand that logic whatsoever. :nixweiss:

That same skew is even worse today if someone needs a painted to match tour pak lid.  Just a lid is about $950 MSRP.  While a complete King pak, with the lid (but w/o the CVO emblem) and all the upper hardware except for the lock itself is about a hundred bucks less then that :nixweiss: .

Steve, we're all giving D00d a little slack right now.  He's not been quite right since his wife said he couldn't have any chrome hinges.
