I'd get rid of the bike.  Trade it off.  It's getting too maintenance intensive!  Next thing you know you'll have to be checking the freakin' tire pressure!   :bananarock:

I lost my seat screw while reinstalling my seat.  I had just finished detailing my bike and was trying to put that stupid screw in when it went "tink tink" and disappeared.  I spent 2 hours trying to find the dumb thing.  I had the bike on it's center stand in the driveway with absolutely nothing around.  I finally gave up and went to the hardware store and bought a 1/4" x 20 stainless button head screw and a lock washer.  What really got me was that the original screw just did a Houdini on me.  It must be in the twilight zone somewhere.  -Guess I'm gonna spring for the fancy HD thumb screw for around $18.
This is one area that the Mo Co could learn from Jap bikes long ago!  How about a push button release for the seat?

Oh no.  This would just be one more place for a problem.....weak/non-functioning/expensive-to-replace/etc push button release made in China.  Hope they don't go there.  :-X  har!  :drink: spyder
