I'll have to check next time I'm at the dealers. The software wasn't opened, but that probably doesn't mean anything. I didn't get any paperwork showing what had been done to it, so no luck there.

What did you add when you purchased the bike before you picked it up? Really odd that this would just be given to you w/no record. Almost leads me to believe they put the SERT (software/interface) in with the wrong bike.

AD2, if the seal was broken on the box that the interface came in, then the dealership used it to probably load a basemap in to get you close to the configuration of air cleaner and exhaust that you added.  If they wrote your name on the bigger box that the software and interface box was in, then they definitely most likely loaded a base map, and they put your name on the box to insure that you got the right interface box, because that is now permanently "married" to your ECM and no other.  Like d00d said, don't lose that little gem, because you'll need that anytime you need to make adjustments to your ECM or have the bike dyno'd.  I have the SERT on my SEUC and the Super SERT on my Street Glide.  Both interfaces are safely stored in the closet in my office.

They weren't in a box. They were in 1 of the saddlebags. The device has my SERK's VIN on the back, so I guess it's married to the bike. The software "sleeve" is what wasn't opened. I bought the bike off the floor, as is and wasn't smart enough to ask what, if anything, had been done to it. My Bill of Sale doesn't list anything. The bike only had about 15 miles on it, so it hadn't gone anywhere.

I'll ask the dealer for anything they have in the system on the bike.

They use their software already loaded on their computer, and don't need use yours.  But they must use your dongle, and as previously explained, that's now married to your ECM/Bike. It sounds to me like you definately have it installed if your VIN is shown on the back now. They probably dumped a canned map into it.
