Well, everyone has to judge for themselves. I agree that you can ride the bike many miles with the leaking gasket, however to install new parts (and on my bike the dealer not only changed the gasket but also the piston and parts of the rear cylinder) takes only one day. Unfortunately H-D does not offer the warranty extension in Europe and it remains to be seen if they will fix anything for free after the initial warranty has run out.

Ride safely,
Louis
You are very fortunate Louis.  Can't speak for others but I think many have the same experience - bike sits for weeks awaiting its turn to be diagnosed, then more wait for parts to come in, then more wait as tech gets pulled off for emergencies with higher priority.  Service can barely keep up in off season - during riding season, forget about it.

I haven't had the problem yet, but I think there's a sufficient number of people who have, that we should be looking at a CVO 110' Official Leaker patch for members of this site.  Not everyone should be able to get one.  You will need to show documentation and a certification letter from your dealer.  -Wear your new patch with honor!  Having a CVO makes you exclusive,  let's recognize those who can belong to this Ultra (pun intended) special CVO group!
And a slogan like -So screw it, it leaks!   :pepper:

Yes. What I meant is, the work takes just one day. So with a cooperating service manager the down time can be minimized.

Ride safely,
Louis

For those interested or otherwise keeping track…According to the dealer my leak was caused by movement of the rear cylinder sleeve.

Guess I am one of the lucky ones so far, just rolled 8000 on my 08 Duracell, no leaks as of yet, but I do keep looking. Ride the hell out of it, thats what it is built for, extended warranty will take care of everything else.
