When I was a kid, Carlin was a DJ on a Ft. Worth, TX radio station.  Did not follow his career that closely until the "7 dirty words" stuff, which I found hilarious.  Enjoyed most of his rants and his alternate take on "stuff" inspired at least 2 generations.  May he rest in peace, far, far away from any golf courses,

Read this on the news feed, did not know this was his voice.

But even with his groundbreaking adult-themed humor, Carlin kept a childlike sense of mischief, doing voiceovers for such kid-friendly projects as "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends."  8)

I believe George played the Conductor on Thomas for a while.  My sons went through a brief "Thomas" phaze is the only reason I would know this.

I NEVER knew this- we have a TON of Thomas stuff, all the trains, a train table, Thomas towels, videos - now I will get a laugh out of it.
