Great to see Pete in the trade! There is a shortage in the States of 60,000 Diesel mechanics! My employer has even dropped the written test and just has the hands on evaluation to get started. It's bad out there! Some of the mechanics I wouldn't let fix my lawnmower. But I love fixing something thats broke, not just replacing parts, so I have it good, a profession I like, good pay, and a CVO! I Love This Country!
Carry on Pete, just stay out of that Snap-On truck as much as possible (worse than a chrome disorder).  Dave

Hey Ed - Offer him a congrats.

I worked for a Cat Towmotor shop for awhile. It was the best shop I have worked in. Clean, well lit, warm in the winter - all the tools.

Really enjoyed working on the big stuff, especially the articulated 4wd construction lifts. Nothing like a 4wd forklift with 425 3208!

Someone mentioned tool sizes. Occasionally the mechanics from heavy equipment would come over to borrow a towmotor to carry the tools out.

Dave there is a lot of truth in that, I told him to start out with craftsman and decide later on what he wanted to use every day. Of course I get his hand me downs. ;)

Awesome "Office" long hours though. Nice piece of equipment to use for snow removal.

Will do! His Cat shop is pretty clean and safety is much more in the fore front. Seemed to take a while for them to catch up with the construction regs I deal with but they're on top of it now. Milton Cat has an incredible safety training program.

Yeah, some of the guys have a "few" tools, ask JR how long it took him to move his tools from his old service truck to his new one last summer, I'm pretty sure he told me a week.

Very nice...

Thanks Jock!

Thanks Diva, not sure if he appreciates it yet sometimes things can be hard to see at 19 but I'm sure he will sooner or later... ;)

Hey Ed. Great news on your boys new job. Always good to see a kid graduate from toy trucks to the real thing. Wonder if he ever thought he would have his hands on the real thing when he was little?

Give him all our best wishes.

Thanks Nige, not sure if he thought he'd be able to get into his trade when he was little but he's enjoying it now. He was a little disappointed that they wouldn't let him operate the machine below the other day though. I just told him to give it time he'll get there....

It's always good when you hear about a kid that is doing something with his life.
You should be very proud indeed. Congrats Ed.
