elvislee....

Just to be clear....."Diamond Cut" jugs/cylinders is the result of sending one's jugs/cylinders and heads to Las Vegas, NV to a company that specifically takes them and cuts them in such a way to provide the "end" result of what you were seeing in the above photos....

ie:  http://www.diamond-heads.com/products.html

What I meant above, is that in the FXR4 photos showing the "diamond" cutting of the "jugs" and "heads" they appear to be "black" in color....but it could be just the way the photo came out is all....but if indeed I am correct and the "jugs" and "cylinders" on the FXR4 are indeed black....then those are not the "stock" or "original" OEM "jugs" and "cylinders" for the FXR4 as the FXR4 comes OEM with "silver" "jugs" and "heads".

My point is the owner of the FXR4 or the person who had them "diamond cut" could of had the "silver" "jugs/cylinders" and "heads" cut just as easily by sending them in.....ie: cutting one's heads "diamond cutting" is a distinct and seperate issue from the FXR4's having silver engines and what was done to the FXR4 bike above.....

I hope there wasn't any confusion....if there was hopefully this cleared it up....and if there was never any confusion....I appologize for typing the 'Clarification".....lol

Regards,

FXR2evo99

Believe it is just the shadows causing things to look black.  If you look at the top of the heads just below the rocker box covers, it appears silver.

Hey ElvisLee, I'm not sure what the Diamond Cut people had to prove in the way of their cutting the fin edges making the motor run cooler......but, they did get a patent on the process based on that issue as I understand it.  Whether or not it does that.......it is so good looking, that I want it.  Some, like TwoBluLane(?) have had their motor diamond cut and it's beautiful with or without changing the color.  The silver motors even look great....and of course the black looks even better....like all the colors that a diamond refract in the sunlight.  Only downside is the disassembly and shipping back and forth to Vegas.  And the $$$.  I will eventually have it done.....just doing my usual procrastinating.  ::) har!  :drink: spyder

On which bike?  :nixweiss: spyder

I have the FXR4 yellow version. I pulled off the buckhorns I had on there and replaced them with a stock HD bar very similar to those on the 2 and 3, but about 3" wider. I borrowed a bunch of info from FXR2evo99 on his "Arresting Red" topic.

On that bike I can see your dilemma......the black would be more 'authentic' and look great.......the braided they have now are so good looking on any scooter, even the older ones......I still have black on my '94 Nostalgia, but keep thinking about changing to braided ones....more procrastinating.  ::) har!  spyder

Yea man...They ride SWEET don't they :2vrolijk_21:My two grandson's (5&11) love to ride with me. The little one thinks he's the coolest now that he gets to ride BSR; but I still got to remember to go lite around the corners and curves...don't wan't to look over and see the the little bugger in the middle of a ditch spitten out grass ;D...Yea, Geaorge seems like a likable fella...Hope he gets one of em.

My daughter is 8.  She's learning how to look through and lean in the curves now . . . well, to the extent we have curves here in east central Illinois. :-\

Hey Spy...I agree with ya....Man those "Diamond Cut" look really sharp and I wouldn't know anything about procrastination ;). That's why my little handlebar change from a week or so ago is still not done. Can't decide on black cables or braided :confused5:...Best to ya :2vrolijk_21:

Aren't the brake cables braided on the 4s? :nixweiss:

Good evening gentleman, Well I sent an e-mail the the guy w/ the FXR2. I gave him the best info that I have regarding prices asked and if they were sold or not. I fowarded him approx 5 FXR's (2,3,&4's) from e-bay. Not one sold. The highest price was $8,400 FXR2 w/ 6,600 mi.  I asked him to look up NADA.COM

Sounds like a good strategy.  I recall someone responding (maybe in this thread) that eBay represents the wholesale market, and maybe it does, but at least you get an idea of whereabouts things are getting bid to vis-a-vis the asking prices you see in the other online ads.  All the best in working the deal and thanks for keeping us posted.

Brian, he was real nasty with his reply so I dont think he will sell the bike to me at that price anymore($11,000) If I can send it for my e mail I will. The reply that I just sent was onle 1/2 of what I wrote. I dom't want to re-type it again.  Regards, G.T

When I got my 4, it had black cables, but I was the second owner. I have since put on the braided cables. Gotta look cool, doncha know?
