Great job posting the pics. But don't be so hasty getting rid of your FD. As you've seen in the history, the FL frame is the big brother to the FXR frame. But I think if you can afford it, you'll like the flexibility of having a street bike AND a touring bike (for long 2-up trips). There's no question the FXR was one of HD's finest moments. But after travelling on street bikes only before I got my first RK in '95, I found that there's nothing like travelling on a touring platform bike (even though yours is the one with the fairing ::) )! Seriously, if you can afford to, try to keep it. Your SO will appreciate it on long trips too! :2vrolijk_21:

George.....actually I think Brian was referring to ["....whatever happened to that guy....."] the guy who actually "originally" made that particular banner above who was at the time selling his 1999 Blue Flamed FXR3, but I too might be mistaken.....lol.

Well you got me Brian, lol, I thought you meant me. I guess I misunderstood who you meant . I've been so busy talking with the guy and giving directions, etc. I guess I lose it a little bit. I'm glad Tim sort of misunderstood too.  Thanks Tim, You made me feel better, lol.  Hopefully the bike should be here Saturday around noon. I can't wait. Actually, I have seen your 2005 Ultra photos above....it's a great bike....and a great color ie: a type of "red" lol ie: 1999 FXR2 "Arresting Red".

Ole, George must be really sweatin up there in NY....with all of that humidity and taking a hammer to his "shed" to make room for the addition, plus giving directions....oh Saturday can NOT come SOON ENOUGH!!!! I AM SURE!!!!!!!

HOLD on an hour after you have received that new FXR3.....you will need a bigger addition on to your shed to store the 2005 Ultra, because that "new" FXR3 won't be out of your site.....ole George will be out in his underware late at nite sittin on that bike into the "wee" hours....

Tim, If I could sell my Ultra(not sure if I really want to) I might go for that arresting red FXR2. I still love that bike.Who said you cant have two CVO FXR'S?  Best, G
