How about a bat wing fairing that actually works. When it rains the front of my shirt
gets wet, when riding at night I get bugs on shirt and I get a lot of turbulance from
wind coming up from the bottom of the fairing into my face. Bat wing looks good
but its function sucks.

I have tried that and it made no difference. The air I am feeling seems to be
coming around the fairing on the outside of the forks.  One time while wearing
a full face helmet a fly flew between my face and the helmet and landed on the
ledge at the shield. I reached up and cracked the shield and it was sucked out
of the helmet through the crack.

I rode a EG classic that had the Chrome Wind Deflector part#58121-85b on it
and all turbulance was gone. I guess it pushes the air out around your legs
instead of it coming up in your face.

Our light bar set up will not allow us to put this on our bikes as it has to have
a flat surface to mount to. I want to put this on mine but not willing to change
light bar and turn signals to do it.

Hmmm, sounds like someone rode a Road Glide recently :huepfenlol2:

Mark, that little air deflector between the legs will help a little.  Not a lot, but a little.  Add the air deflectors on the sides of the inner fairings if you don't have them.  With the lowers that's as good as it's going to be.

Yes Don I rode a Road Glide and now I am spoiled, no turbulance on those.
It is a more comfy ride for sure. With the windshield so far away from your
body does it still block the wind at highway speeds?

If the height is correct.  The red bike's windshield tops out just under my line of sight.  Everything kicks up over my head.  The SERG had a stock flat windshield that came on the bike when I brought it home that topped out close to the same place.  I felt the wind at the top of head.  Bouned the helmet around just a bit.  Not bad, but a bit.  Got one of the Clearview windshields with the "recurve" at the top to throw the air/rain/whatever just a bit highter.  It is also just below the line of sight.  It works fine.  You're right though.  It is a stretch to reach out there and turn the radio on.  I love the look of that dash layout though.  Just a cool looking inner.

Cool.  Very Cool, and it looks great in all orange!!!
Well I was afraid you were going to say that about the windshield.
So your telling me with the right windshield it is much more comfy to
ride than the SEEG?  Be honest now.

...and with the lowers on it's a great bike to ride in the rain. The fixed fairing allows a pretty tight fit between the upper and lower fairings.

You still get the blast of air coming up around the forks.  It's just directed differently so you don't feel it as much.  It was there on our 01 SERG.

Crap....   It's not nice to make me choose between them.

Ok, assuming the things that should be corrected on bikes relative to their rider are correct or corrected on the Road Glide; windshield height, handlebar position/reach and seat.  Assuming those are all equally dialed in to the rider on each bike the Road Glide is a more pleasant ride going down the ride.

Just going straight down the highway I can't say the difference is huge.  But it is real and it is noticeable.  A more dramatic difference is the handling though.  Without having all the weight of the fairing, radio, harness and other electronics on the bars going from one bike to the other makes the Road Glide feel amost nimble (or as nimble as a hog that size can be).

As Doc mentioned with the lowers on and tucked up close to the fairing not a lot gets to the rider.  It is a nice, clean, non-turbulent and surprisingly quiet ride.  It's not that the SEEGs are completely competent to take down the highway all day long.  They are.  Especially when setup accordingly for the task.  It is readily apparent, however, that the RG is even more suited to the task.
