Morning everyone - Memphis calling here.

We had a pig of a ride yesterday, abiout 250 miles in the tail end of Fay, torrential rain and fairly windy. We managed to get the last 200 miles in relatively clear weather, but arrived here like "Drooned rats" at about 8pm. We soon got washed and brushed up though and headed down to Beale Street where we enjoyed some excellent food and great music in 'Silky's Irish Bar'. Finished the night with a walk along the street and listening to the various strains of music drifting out from the bars and restaurants.

New Orleans was a blast. We had a couple of great nights down in the French Quarter, along Frenchman Street and in Bourbon Street. Thanks to Tom (Bayoubiker) for the lift back to the Hotel on Friday NOLA HD. Sorry we didn't manage to hook up again later, but we didn't get the bikes back until nearly 7pm on the Saturday.

We're off to cape Girardeau today and should hook up with Hogbreath at Lambert's in Sikeston this afternoon for lunch.

Thanks for all the messages - I'll be going for a longer update once we hit Milwaukee as we will be there for four nights. We're looking forward to meeting everyone a the GTG's planned on the Thursday and Friday.

Nuts.  Sorry I didn't keep up well enough Nigel.  Was on travel all last week and didn't see the site.  So lost track of your itinerary.  Had hoped to meet up with your caravan at Cape Girardeau.  300 mile hop over there from here so never make it for lunch now though. 

Have enjoyed reading the road trip tales.  Hope it's been as much fun to do as it's been vicariously.  Safe travel the rest of the way sir.

Hehe (as Howie would say), what a GREAT DAY!   Met Ken (HogBreath), Jorge (amigo Jorge), Nige (BalDeagle) & Jan and Mel & Eileen in Effingham, IL today and then we rode back to Champaign for the 105th kick-off party at Andrae's H-D.  At Andrae's we met up with Jim (Screamin') & Joan, Ozzie . . . and The Man himself, Willie G.!!!!!!!  Perfect weather and time in the wind with friends . . . it's what it's all about!  I love this place!!!
