A retired DAWG!
« on: July 30, 2008, 09:04:32 AM »

Congratulations to my friend Mr. DAWG! (aka DC Fireman)

Quote
HEY CHIP now you know for sure I am going to MV. After 27 years of service to The District of Columbia Fire Department my last day at work is the 13th of September. Now what am I going to do with myself?? Have some fun for sure.

Be Safe

THE DAWG

27 years of service helping others!
That's an accomplishment to be proud of!
What can we find for you to do now?

1)   Work on catching up to Howie on "Post Count".

2)   Spokesman for Zippers, but only telling the "Real" story.

3)   Come to North Carolina and become the BBQ king. Open a restaurant to be listed as a must stop on the CVO tour.

4)   Dedicate 4 hours a day to straightening out AXIL.

5)   Take "Annie" and go hunting!

6)   Organize the Thursday night hamburger and hot dog cook out at Wheels thru Time this September at Maggie Valley.

7)   OK, maybe 4 hours isn't enough. Spend 6 hours a day working on AXIL.

8    Ride to Hot Springs before you come to Maggie Valley.

Dawg, congratulations on being able to retire and we look forward to seeing you more on the site.

Congrats Dawg! :bananarock:

I am envious for sure.  Working for a living keeps me from doing a lot of really fun stuff.

Thanks Chip, just got off the phone with Axil. He and I both agree that keeping him straight might be another full time job!!!!

Seriously though. Thanks everyone. It has been a great career. The phone is ringing off the hook today. It took a few days to work through the chanels at work. They want me to stay but I don't think I can. I would rather go out with my head held high knowing I gave them 100%. Now that would make me happy.

BBQ carryout is on the books. I am looking for a nice location right now. If I get some of the stuff up here sold I will be loving life. Lets see, get up at 4. Go to work, check on the ribs, shoulders, briskets and chicken. Make the sides, place the food orders with the wholesalers, work till 3 close up and come home. I think I could do that 4 or 5 days a week. OH and close down every once in a while to go see my CVO friends!!!

Yes I do have the PERFECT LIFE!!!!! At least it works for me.

Be Safe

Congratrulations Mike.  Finally pulling the string must've been a hard decision.  Plan for fun, then have more fun when it just happens.  Oh, and don't forget the occasional pretty girl that just accidentally falls in your lap.  More fun than BBQ :nixweiss::huepfenlol2:
