Van, I thought you told me this was all I needed, just don't have the paperwork you sent handy - you should see my desk. I'm pretty sure I know where it is though  :2vrolijk_21:

About .002. Didn't have anyone to turn the tire for me, so I put the second "larger" dial on.

Is that scoring/wear normal?

Some wear and scoring in these pumps always happen. When it is severe, like the pic shows, there are two reasons. The first is all of the tensioner material that has been sucked throught it and the second is pump alignment. Pump aligment is shown when the scoring is mostly on one side of the pump body. My rule of thumb is that If you can catch a fingernail on the wear and scoring then replace the pump.

Question on the alignment, on the EVO's they had alignment pins that screwed into a couple of the holes on the plate to get it into alignment before tightening the plate down. Why don't they use these in the TC's, and how is alignment ensured on the TC's?

I did this 2 years ago (memory bad), but you tighten the bolts on the oil pump down to a certain spec, rotate the engine a few times to center/align the pump, then torque to final spec..

First the cam plate must be installed center and torqued to spec. What I do is put the plate in and install all the bolts hand tight then loosen 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Then Lift rear of the bike up and put in fifth gear. Rotate the rear wheel to turn motor while tightening the cam plate per the serice manual. This centers the plate.

You can then use the Evo lifter block alignment pins on the TC oil pump. Put them in hand tight, diagonal from each other, then loosen 1/4 - 1/2 turn.  Rotate the rear wheel to turn motor around while alternatelty tightening down the alignment pins. This will center the pump. Then install the other two bolts and torque to 110 inch pounds. Remove alignment pins and install two remaining bolts.
