Dears M & Ms WeCvo,

Happy to read your welcome !
How many years before you retire somewhere ?
I agree your choice, the Provence is a dream area but probably it exists the same in States.
Sure, without the french touch !
Ride safe and have fun !

Jacques

May be, you remenber this place : Brugges during a trip in Belgium and French Flandres this summer in the middle of August 2006.

Jacques, we hope to have my husband retire within the year - I have a few more to go.
Provence is not duplicated in any way here.  Lots of nice places, but nothing like that.
And yes, Brugges is a favorite city for us. We went there many, many times. I have a lot of linen/lace/tapestry from there.  And all that water on the ground -------- Yep! That is what we really remember a lot of from living in Belgium.
Looks like a lot of bikes.  What was the event?

It was a run (1500 kms) with the HOG (Lyon Chapter ) during five days in the middle of August.
We were 35 bikes and we have visited Lille, Dunkerque and Calais in France and Brugges and Ostende in Belgium.
During 4 days, it was very rainy.
It was not very fun on the road but very friendly with all.
This new picture is in the french Flandres.

Ahhhhh!  Now that looks like "almost home".  Feel so very familiar.  Isn't it funny how quickly we can adapt to our new surroundings as we move about this planet.  I know how it feels to live in the Europe, Pacific Nortwest, in Western Canada, Middle Canada, deep South and now Central East USA.  A picture is worth thousands and thousands of words ------ in any language.  Thank you so much Jacques.  In a very good way ----- you've made me homesick.   ;)
