I have wondered about this myself. If they are wanting us to sign something other than the letter mailed to us, it may be important to read and understand what you are signing.
THAT's the letter I want to see a copy of.
No letter or even catalogs here. I feel so left out. (except I do have a leaker now!

)
Oh, and get this, local dealer (actually the "Chrome Consultant" there) got all cocky when I stopped in to actually try to spend some $$$ with them. This was after I brushed off his "you got your 10k service done yet" question with, "Yeah I had it done somewhere else. [that would be me] Actually what I am really concerned with is the recall on these 110s"
So the story gets long here, as they do, but I was not amused when he said "no letter? well we can't do anything for you til you have your letter." I said It's on the website, give me a break. You punch in your VIN and it's right there. I don't need a letter for that. "Well that's the Motor Company"
What an idiot. He knew he was wrong but instead of saying Hey let me run your VIN through our machines and see what comes up (a face-saving way out) he says basically stuck with the TFB attitude, you're out til you get a piece of paper to tell you what you already know.
Then the leak hits a week later.
So I actually tried to have it done there over the week while I was away. Nothing done. I'm losing my view that "these guys are different, really" Maybe if I'd bought 3 bikes there last year (plus all the add-on's) instead of just 2, maybe I'd be important enough to take that second effort.
Rode the thing 500 miles this weekend, gonna take it 800+ miles down the road tomorrow. Could have been "fixed" by now if Mr Chrome had just done the right thing the first time when I was there, pre-leak.
Now, I have heard some excellent feedback about Brian's HD in PA - including about their work on the leak and their attitude in general. In fact, I recently bought a detachable luggage rack there when my local shop didn't have one in stock (the locals don't stock much actually compared to others. hmmm.) I cannot enough say how out of their way to be helpful and show genuine appreciation the guys at Brians were with my lousy 400 dollar purchase. In fact when I was done, I wished I had bought the new seat there too (would have been a 750 dollar total for them, plus or minus)
Now, we'll see how these 09s turn out, but if the MoFo has gotten its chit together in terms of at least building engines that don't just suddenly wet themselves, I might have a SERG on my spring shopping list. Wonder where I'm gonna start looking ??
Vote with your cash, that's the most important thing you can do. Calls to CS are a waste of time and energy. Letters to the MoFo do sometimes work a little. Same with letters to the dealers, sometimes it has an effect, sometimes not. But the money, that's what matters to everyone.
