North Cascade Highway WA
« on: August 20, 2008, 11:18:48 PM »

Never posted pics so I wanted to share my last trip with you guys.

We drove over the Cascade Hwy on Monday and came back Tuesday.  My wife and I have six month old twin girls so I had to pack up the mini-van and ask Grandma and Grandpa to follow behind.  It was a Great Trip.  Monday it rained ALL DAY!  I have never used my rain suit from Harley (It only cost $120.00 but it is well worth it!) stayed dry all day.  It was cool riding in the rain totally different smells, sights and feeling.  FREEDOM!!! That is my feeling when I am on the bike.  My dad said he felt bad for me - I told him I would much rather be on the bike than in the van.

I was a little disappointed in the way the leather tour pak stood up to the rain.  It really looked bad last night when we got home.  I washed the bike today and left it in the sun and it has started to look better but it still looks stretched.  I love the tour pak but not sure it could/would stand the test of time if I went on extended road trips.  I have read other threads and most comments have been to let it dry out and it will return to its original look.  Also the speedometer gauge and tachometer gauge got moisture inside them.  I could not even read my tach when we arrived into Winthrop Monday night.  My garage is heated and when I washed the bike today the moisture seems to be gone.  Has anyone had moisture in their gauges - should this be something I should be concerned with?

Oh and the heated grips that the dealership couldn't fix because I didn't need them - they came in handy in the rain.

1st pic is in Darrington when we stopped to feed the babys.

I think my picture files are too big can't get them to attach.  I am not sure how to reduce them so I can attach.  The current size average is 2.56mb.

Yeah, your pictures are probably too big.  There are several web sites that you can use to resize pictures.  You can do an internet search to find one you like.  I use this one:  www.resize2mail.com

My Wife, Dad, Mom and My Girls.  It sure was great to be able to ride and have them with us - to be honest my wife would not have gone unless they came and my parents are Great People.  I Am Very Blessed.

Well when I bought my scooter I never imagined having a minivan (I actually really like it now though) nor did I think it would be going on a road trip with me/us.   Here is a picture my wife took of my parents following us.
