Howie,
This thread has made my day! I got caught up in all the excitement, and felt like I was there. Excellent pictures, congratulations on what I also consider one of the finest bikes built. Ride safe!

Thanks Jacques!

Howie,
So glad she made it OK. The smiles on your face, and even Binx, say it all. Funny you were wearing a CA H-D shirt for the occasion.

Glad this deal worked out for you.....ENJOY !!!

Joe
Thanks again for all your help Joe! Glad ya noticed the shirt. I wore it on purpose. I got the last time I was out there, and met and rode with you guys, when we stopped at that dealer near Yosemite NP!

:orange:CONGRATULATIONS!! :orange
LOVE THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD AND THE EXPRESSIONS ON YOUR FACE. THANKS FOR SHARING
Thanks! HeHe! I try!!!

Great delivery pics Howie. Congrats on the new scooter.
Thanks LR!

And Ken, you can take that stock 110 and sti....NEVERMIND!
ummmm I guess this is a topic for another thread......"stock 110" lol......ok nevermind....
And in the 45 min I had her out today, I LOVE THIS BIKE ALREADY!!! She rides like a dream. I already know she needs some engine help. But they all do. Stock doesn't really cut it for me. And I mean more than Pipes, Carb, Ignition, which I've already done. But that's no biggie. Vern can work his magic with her heads, get some compression in there and just the right cam.
On my knees tonight.....God don't let him do it.....please.....don't let him go over 9.5:1 compression please.....
It was a bike I've always admired, and already knew it was a Hoist kinda bike. And it somewhat rides like it already. I was impressed by the suspension actually,[uh huh] although the bikes setup too low for the twisties! [uh huh] But the suspension's surprisingly responsive! It's the Hot Rod look and feel that I go for in all my bikes! I'm fairly happy with the seating position, bars, [uh huh Thank you oh thank you....]and forward controls. But that's after only 45 minutes this evening. We'll see how I feel on a trip to the Catskills this weekend hopefully!
For all that is Holy, God please let him leave those bars alone.....well except for making them wider.....but help him to not dream about mini apes or apes at all.....just nice curves with wider handlebars.......

HOWIE!!!! THIS WAS A GREAT THREAD.....with wonderful pictures!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! lol......
OH and apparently your bike hit the Denver Papers this morning, people all over are pretty excited for you here out WEST!!!!.......thought you would like to see!
Tim
HeHe! Saved yours for last! Yeah, wrong bike for the 110! Hmmm, but an S&S 124 or Ultima 127, no we might be on to something!

Don't worry Tim, that's the compression I'd be running. How'd ya guess? Not doing anything radical to this bike. That little bit of top end work will wake this baby up and get me about 1HP/cu in, not bad for an HD street bike. On this lite bike, it'll get 1/4 times in the 12's! Vern's done tons of these Evo hot rod top ends, and have it on my '85 FXWG (which is going onto the rigid Hoist Bobber next), and it's performance is prdedictable!
I was hoping you'd find my mini review embedded in this thread! I knew ya would! Yes, it's a remarkably decent setup. Most times I can sit on a bike and know what I need to do. Might get it wrong, like Cybil, but 1 more time will get it right! With this bike, I'm really not so sure I will change anything relative to seating position. The Bars are setup kinda like my Pro Street, with '87 FXLR bars. It gives ya a drag bar feel and position. I might want that on this bike. So until I take some longer rides on her, I'll be reserving any decision of changing the current setup. I might save ya a trip to the cardiologist. This bike might never see apes!

Thanks for your help through the process, and I'm sure, in the future! Your commitment and passion for these FXR's is not wasted on me, that's for sure! I love it! The information you dig up for us is awesome! And the humor you try to add to it makes reading your posts lotsa fun, like that baby photo! I appreciate all you do here!!! Don't worry, I won't ruin this 1 of 64 beautiful
CVO BLUE3 named
Joy!!!

Hoist!
