I am sorry if the "string" input indicated that I did not think he speaking for himself. Quite the contrary, he certainly needs no help, my reference was only in regards to what he looks like on TV and that the little movement he has, looks animated.
I first thought something was wrong with him when I first saw him.
He really is a smart guy which drives me crazy when I disagree with him.

Not at all.  Was intending to agree that his TV presence isn't the norm for the normal pretty TV talking head.  He's bright enough they keep him coming back anyway.

TV actually paying attention to intellect over appearance; whodathunkit....

Krauthammer's take on Democrats is many times very similar to mine (former Dem here no - party at present) - not sure if he is one still be he sure as hell understands Dems.  Very articulate.

Reason I referred to him earlier here - he coined BDS - Bush Derangement Syndrome. Funny plus an intellect - rare on tv plus as you posted not exactly telegenic.

I also enjoy Camille Paglia - a smart Dem fem with with and an acidic pen at times.  Her take on Sarah Palin is one of the best I have read so far.

Obama got 19 million people to vote for him to run for Prez. Thats the difference.

I've got to question this statement. Not everyone who voted for Obama in the primary was actually voting for him. Many were voting against Clinton. I know this to be a fact. Here in South Carolina, we have an open primary. That means that anyone can vote in either party's primary but can only vote in one. SC is a Red state. Many Republicans knew that McCain was going to win the state easily so they crossed party lines to vote for the candidate that they thought would have the least likely chance of winning against McCain.
As HUBBARD would say...

Do you think Sarah Palin really tried to ban some very classic books from her home town library. i just cant believe that.
the report i read (which i just have to believe is bullchit) is that she tried to ban books including
Catcher in the Rye, Brave new World, Catch 22, Canterberry Tales. East of Eden, Of Mice and Men. One flew over the Cuckoos nests. Slaughterhouse five, adventures of huckelberry finn, The Grapes of wrath.

i got to believe this is liberal media crap. if she really wanted to ban these books, i have some real problems with that

what do you guys think. i am falling for liberal media crap?

i think you are right. There is a women running for congress (republican in San Francisco) who i supported. Nancy Pelosi gets something like 90% of the vote. She recently redrew the district line to get rid of the one area that tended to be more conservative out of her district, so she went from something like 80% to 90% of the vote.

Charlie Gibson of ABC is a moron! Once again Palin ROCKS. When this imbecile of a reporter repeatedly hounded her about the funding for the "bridge to nowhere" and why her state hadn't returned the appropriated funds, she used a football metaphor and replied "in the real world, sometimes you have to call an audible and change the play." This woman can clearly think on her feet.

It's a bogus story with, as many of them have, apparently a grain of truth.

Apparently as town mayor she asked the town librarian what the response would be if "objectionable" works were asked to be removed from the library.  There's no other context to know if the question might have been to see if the librarian would actually do it or would be resistant to it.  So it can't be know if then Mayor Palin was trying to protect or limit access to books.  At least from the known public record that's the extent of all that happened.  There's also no record of any books ever being taken from the town library.

The list I've seen elsewhere though.  It's a common "ban the books" list that gets thrown up whenever such a discussion is bandied about.  So someone found record of Mayor Palin's question to the librarian, created a larger context for it and added the book list to make it feel juicier.  At least that's what it looks like happened.  If she had actually intended to ban books on that list from the public library I'd be voting for the other team faster Howie can redline Cybil.
