 Summer before last, a buddy and his ol'lady were riding us119 in WV. She was on her dyna he was on a RK she was in front getting off an exit at night. She said she lost his head light and thought it blew. She waited at the bottom of the ramp for a time when he didn't show she turned and went back, found him setting in the road bout 30 feet or so in front of his bike, not hurt really just mumbling bout a bear.
 When the cops showed up and ask what happened he said he thought he hit a bear. 1st question out of the cops mouth was. Sir how much have you had to drink tonight? While the other cop was checking out the bike, he went back up the ramp following the trail of parts and wreckage into the weeds when they all herd him scream. He found the bear.
 Damage to the RK= $7500
 Torn jeans = $30
 Trip to ER checked and released = $2500
 Story bout hitting a bear and walking away = PRICELESS

I hit a humming bird on the RK once, flattened it right on the windshield kind of strange.
Also hit a raccon middle of the day I think he was rabid, should say he hit me ran down big hill he stopped, I slowed then he ran into running board rolled over to side of road.
Just missed a turkey vulture this past summer on the ultra came around a tight turn he was in the middle of the road then took off, if I didn't brake I'd have run right up his ass, God they're ugly things.

The smell worse when they are busted open too...I pegged one in a car and it got vulture guts all over the front brake rotor and wheel..Yuk...

I almost ran over a bear once in colorado,.  Missed him by that much...
