Vance and Hines will claim that they will fit the 09 models.  I'm sure they will however, I tried the Vance and Hines Ovals, not moster, on my SERG and they didn't match up right.  The mounting bracket for the pipes puts the pips hugging the bag extenders and leaves a large gap toward the center of the bike.  It doesn't look right at all.  You would think that they would look kick @ss there with the space provided, but they don't fit right, doesn't look like it should be on a 30K bike IMO.

I just spoke with Vance and Hines and they (Steve) said the Monster Ovals "will not" fit the 2009 SERG.

I think I am goint to wait for Fullsac to come up with the Headpipe (keep the stocker w/cat on the shelf)and use their 2.0 baffle, maybe some headwork and a cam change....

knothead, did you just do the slip-ons or did you change the header pipe also?  Thanks.

Thanks for the pic.

I'm considering options - prefer a true dual set-up and want to keep the 4 inch muffler appearance.  There doesn't seem to be a lot of alternatives yet.  There is a lot of talk on this tread about fullsac - I'm just not sure I want to go that route.  I think I would rather stay with a traditional aftermarket product llike rinehart, vance and hines, or cobra and pair that with a sert and a good tune.

I used the Harley Super Tuner with the Cobra's, currently the 110 is producing 97 Horsepower and 107 Ft LBs. of torque at 2,700 RPM with a consistent line of air/fuel ratio. I'm seeing some guy's at getting up to @ 112 of torque with some other tuners on the bike. In my opinion, the non Harley equipment just opens door to have engine warranty claims denied.

Here is the reply to the true dual Question directly from V&H. If you are after looks, a particular sound, and less power I guess True Duals would be a good choice...TOL

That's an interesting statement coming from V&H , by removing the CAT it opens up the flow system, therefore no need to relace the head pipe. I personally don't like sound of the two in one's just to get a couple more H/P out of the 110..

The point made was the stock 2 into 1 into 2 or any other aftermarket system with a balance tube has more potential. any "true dual" system will cost power. A good tuner can optimize a true dual but as the letter explains even a stock header has more potential. I have heard arguments, but the letter V&H is a compelling fact. Just some food for thought for any one considering exhaust.... :drink:

Would it be worth it to buy a stock header from a non cvo bike?  Like a take off part for cheap?  If so, with what exhaust combo?  Thanks...

I installed the Full Sac baffles easy to do and you keep the stock chrome, baffles in three sizes I am aware of. This and a set of non CVO 09 headers and your in bussiness. Take off headers are starting to show up at dealers for around $50 to $100 depending on the dealer, add a tune and I bet you will be a happy rider.  Doc
