Thanks for the recommendations.  :2vrolijk_21:  I like moderately loud sound. On my FLHX I had hookers- and they were pretty loud- but did the job in the torque department. I have read a lot of posts about Fullsack-nothing bad said about them,  but Im not sure I want to mod the muffler BTW- what size baffle did you choose? Alternate to Fullsack- both Samson and Cycle Shack offer baffles for the 4" cans too- and the CS baffles are about 50 bucks including the tool to change them, but again I havent seen any posts about either CS or Samson baffles these either. I pay attention to, but generally won't copy what everyone else is doing, I'll tend to want to experiment a little to have something different-

I had the 2.25" but I now switched to D&D 2 into 1.

I have the FullSac 2.25" baffels.  Unfortuantly I still have the cat in the head pipe.  Sound is very nice and deep.  From what I hear it gets better with no cat.  So far I am happy with the fullsac baffels.

Now if I can just get my hands on a 96" head pipe no cat, for a reasonable price.

I may do that.  I need to find some one who welds real good to put it back together.

A friend of mine that I ride with all the time owns a body shop right down the street from me.  I'm in his shop probably 2-3 times each week.  I never thought of mentioning it to him until I had already changed to the 2 into 1.  He then told me, I could have done that for you with no problem.  One of those moments to slap myself on the forehead and move on.

I'm sure that you'd be happy with Fullsac.  I have sent him two pipes and he turned both around in one day.  The bike was down for a week.  The other alternative is to take it to a muffler shop or performance exhaust company in your area and ask them if they can do it.
I bought another cat pipe from 09 S/T FLTRISE3 on this board (thanks Ken!) so I have back-up when the state goes to annual pipe checks.  I've seen cat pipes go on ebay for as low as $62, but the market is pretty volatile and you really can't depend on it.

I am bidding on a two different no cat ones on e-bay right now.

I will look into a local muffler shop doing the welding.

Take him the pictures from the other thread so you can show him what you're talking about.  Just remember the overall length of the pipe and relative position of the crossover connection have to be exactly the same.

Fwiw-  If you dont get the headers on  Ebay- you dont really need to cut and weld the collector to get the cat out. Jim Kerr posted a really good set of pictures and instructions to drill and remove the cat with out removing the headers.

Wrong. That only drills out the upper half. The bottom half requires cutting the pipe.

Here's a link to a thread that will show you what the cat looks like inside the pipe:
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=33475.0
Somewhere on this board there is a picture of a pipe that has been cut open for a full catectomy that had previously been cored in the manner you are talking about.  The shortcomings of that method are readily apparent when you see it.  I just don't recall where it is.  Maybe someone else can help.

I found it here: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=27814.330

The pictures have been pulled for whatever reason, you might PM him and see what's up. The pics were really good.
