Well thank you everyone for your thoughts.
Yes, a new dealer is in order. Words can not express the amount of frustration, disappointment, and anger I feel at this moment.
The Service Manager calls me last night at 7:00 PM to tell me that, once again, they will not warranty the grips due to the new handle bar (Wild 1) installation, even though it was installed by a HD certified mechanic. His excuse is that, “The wire harness has been extended and is no longer a HD part.” I was nice and said, “Don’t touch my bike, I’ll be there tomorrow to pick it up.”
Wow… do you realize that this guy is trying to cancel my 7 year warranty…!?!?! He says, “Will keep this between us… you pay for labor and we’ll take care of the parts.” WTF!?!
Needless to say I’m on a campaign now.
• I, nor will my fiancé, will ever purchase from them again and granted she just bought a new Fat Boy from them this past fall, a 2008 too. Together we own 3 scooters now…
• I will do everything in my power to alert people to their business practices and poor customer service. Yes, I’m pissed… but no, I’m not the first one that has gotten this treatment. I was warned… but this is the first time I’ve ever required authorized (warranty) service. They were convenient and I gave them a shot.
• I will do everything in my power to persuade others to avoid their business and spread the word of their practices. YES, I will affect as much financial and reputational damage as possible.
• I will contact the Mother Ship (HD Corp.)
• I will meet with the owner of the business and tell him of my experience and my intentions.
To all of you… I strongly do not recommend this dealer ship and especially their service department and the pitiful excuse of a Service Manager, Mark Melger.
May they go bankrupt.
