The conversion to carb is far more complex than you can imagine.  I strongly suggest it not even be a consideration.

I disagree.  THe conversion is not complex.  If you look in the parts books, you'll see that it's just parts, not rocket science.

Mostly cash.  I needed an ECM, TSSM, ECM Mount, Coil and I had to make coil mounts, Spark plug wires and I dropped in a fuel pump/sender/filter/regulator assembly complete.  I then found a tank plug in the parts books to block off the bung that gets disconnected.  Install a couple of wires, change a wire and done.  The conversion to carbureted would be very easy too.

Mostly cash.  I needed an ECM, TSSM, ECM Mount ($7.00), Coil and I had to make mounts, Spark plug wires and I dropped in a fuel pump/sender/filter/regulator assembly complete.  I then found a tank plug in the parts books to block off the bung that gets disconnected.  Install a couple of wires, change a wire and done.  The conversion to carbureted would be much simpler.

Thanks, appreicate the insights very much.  Had done (once) a conversion back to a carb but had never had the opportunity to compare the EFI systems side by side on a table to see just what would have to be changed to change over to the newer system.  Thanks again.

To convert to Delphi the big hitters are an ignition harness, ecm, tssm and tssm harness if not already equipped, fuel module assy, coil and wires
To convert to carb you need an ignition harness, carb & intake, ignition module
Converting to Carb is cheaper, converting to Delphi I thought was cool.

well 1/2 way through converting to a carb....got the injection system and and injection harness off, carb on....waiting for the carb harness to arive from harley and waiting on a ignition on ebay...either pluging off both holes on the tank and teeing off the crossover to get fuel to carb ....or machining a nipple to be able to use a petcock on the efi tank... more to come.....ride-on
