I know this is a 'tires' thread, but couldn't help but respond to the previous two responses that mentioned problems w/ the turn signals having moisture problems.  I just had the guts replaced in one of mine but not the actual chrome housing due to moisture.  Wonder if this is going to be a 'weak point' on these bikes?     [smiley=nervous.gif]   spyder

I used to get moisture in the turn signal from leaks around the lens when washing or getting caught in the rain.  To a lesser extent, I got condensation inside the housing during periods of high humidity (that's about 100% of the time living down here in the swamp).  Cured the problem by using a light coat of clear aquarium silicone around the lip of the lense and on the 3 pressure "keepers" that snap inside the housing.  Since trying this, I've noticed that a couple of the local shops are now "curing" the problem in the same way.  Waaaaay off topic, but the lenses and frame sit above the front tire! No problem Spyder.  I also change out the HD stock bulbs which are coated with a nasty peeling orange substance with NAPA true amber bulbs.  They are about 1/2 the price of the HD's, never peel and seem to last forever.

Good luck on the work with the new shop.  One question though.  Since your heated grips are wired in a way contra-indicated by the "factory instructions" are they giving you any grief or making you pay the labor part of the job?

Thanks Twolane, I sure hope the new shop will treat us better.  Actually, the butchered way the grips were installed at my first service, I have no clue if was by the "factory instructions" or not. They just looked like dooo dooo, but the right grip had completely lost any hint of chrome.  They are going to replace both grips and rewire them, they said they would try to put them inside the bars if they could and they are charging me labor, as the warranty is to the part..... not to another shops install.

The rear tire was legitamatly worn out, but the front tire they are going to replace. They tried to reseat it but it still lost all but 10 lbs overnight. They pulled it off and put it in water and they said it was a bubbling like a champaigne fountain. I have no clue what I could have run over. No visible holes, mars, gashes etc., but they said right in the middle of the tire, a few holes.  Sucks to be sure.

And I never thought about the purchase of tires advance..... I don't get any kind of a discount at this new store.  Could have bought them at the "bad man" store and at least worked my way towards a 15% discount ---- their reward system - every so many dollars spent add up to a discount on another purchase.  Sometimes it is all about timing.  I did not have the time to plan ahead and the slow leak just happened to coincide with an already scheduled appointment to have warrantly issues looked at.  Seemed to make sense to look after everything at once and be done for another couple of months.    We have been adding quite a few miles lately. I guess this is the expense of riding.
