He went or is going out with class too.  He had his flaws, but he was good for a bit, plus he coaches in the toughest division.

TN - smoke arrived yesterday...thanks AGAIN.

Any more games I can take smokes away from you?

SEC Championship, FLORIDA vs ALABAMA??

Saban gets the beyatch smackdown he deserves for being a non-loyal run for the money kind of guy he is...he is up there with Spurrier to me.

10 November I will smoke this in celebration of our slamming Vandy on the 8th and the 233rd Birthday of my Beloved Corps.

"On November 10, 1775, a Corps of Marines was created by a resolution of the Continental Congress. Since that date many thousands of men have borne that name Marine. In memory of them it is fitting that we who are Marines should commemorate the Birthday of our Corps by calling to mind the glories of its long and illustrious history.

The record of our Corps is one which bear comparison with that of the most famous military organizations in the world's history. During 90 of the 146 years of its existence the Marine Corps has been in action against the Nation's foes. From the Battle of Trenton to the Argome, Marines have won foremost honors in war and in the long era of tranquility at home generation after generation of Marines have grown gray in war in both hemispheres, and in every corner of the seven seas so that our country and its citizens might enjoy peace and security.

In every battle and skirmish since the Birth of the Corps, Marines have acquitted themselves with the greatest distinction, winning new honors on each occasion until the term "Marine" has come to signify all that is highest in military efficiency and soldierly virtue.

This high name of distinction and soldierly repute we who are Marines today have received from those who preceded us in the Corps. With it we also received from them the eternal spirit which has animated our Corps from generation and has long been the distinguishing mark of Marines in every age. So long as that spirit continues to flourish Marines will be found equal to every emergency in the future as they have been in the past, and the me of our nation will regard us as worthy successors to the long line of illustrious men who have served as "Soldiers of the Sea" since the founding of the Corps."
"General John A Lejeune"

CAL played their hearts out on defense and held a tough USC team to 10 - 3 for nearly 4 quarters, but they need to find a QB. This guy is not Aaron Rodgers, hell he ain't even Nate Longstreet. He's a slug. Tough loss still though for the rest of the team. I haven't seen the rankings yet but I expect this dropped CAL out of the top 25. As to the rest of the NCAA, I'm bettin on an Alabama/Texas showdown for #1 come January. Bama's got a killer team this year.

B B...Bama's really good this year, and it was unexpected at this point in time.  They about gave me a heart attack last night though, but showed what they're really made of when they had to.  They've got a spot clinched in the SEC playoff against Florida, but still two games to go, with one of them being Auburn.  You can throw out the record when those two play.  Then Florida...that's going to be a good one, regardless of the outcome.  Bama defense is going to have to knock Tebow (sp?) on his butt a few times to take the fire out of him, and give him happy feet.  We'll see....whoever wins that one, will meet Texas in all probability.

1992, if I'm not mistaken.  First SEC championship game.  Bama beat Florida in the regular season, then whipped their collective asses again in the Championship game.  Weren't even supposed to be in the same stadium as Miami in the title game, but Miami forgot they hadn't faced a defense like Bama can put up...Testeverde on his ass a few times...game over.  Tebow better have some extra padding, 'cause Bama is going to be after the guy.  They have NOT faced a defense like Alabama is going to show them in this game...

Of course, we've still got to beat Auburn... :nervous:
