Am I the only one that didn't know about the break light?
« on: September 23, 2008, 07:55:27 PM »

My SERG was delivered today. I was shocked to see a seperate brake light. Whats up with that? Mine is a Canadian version. Is this some law?

Based on earlier photos I would say that you have an "international version."  However, You do have the "domestic" exhaust on there.

Why wouldn't the internat'l version accept the LEDs ???

You're still going to be very happy with it!!

Congrats !!   :2vrolijk_21:

"Domestic Exhaust" what? Are there different exhausts too? Who else knew about this and what other surprizes await?>:(

If you find the international pics on this site for the SERG you will see that it has the normal exhaust mufflers for the CVO's.  Calm down, you have the what came on mine from the looks of it.

You got the "international version" and you're in the US? Was that by choice ?

No, you have the same "domestic" mufflers on that one.  The earlier pics of a "international" model had different mufflers.

One of the "joys" of making vehicles to be sold in many different markets is the lack of a single standard for things like emissions, safety, lighting, etc.  For instance, some countries require amber turn signals, others allow either amber or red.  I'm going to make a WAG (wild assed guess) here and say that most likely this version is for those areas that do not allow the turn signals and stop lamp to be integrated.

Just between us girls, I believe the more lights on the rear the better.  I've ridden behind bikes with the combo turn signal/tail light setup, and in my opinion the stop light function is much less attention grabbing or visible.  Be happy that you get a real stop light versus the "stylin'" version.

Wow.  First time I've seen that.  It doesn't look bad (IMHO), just different.  Congratulations on the bike.

Sounds like you need to bring this to the attention of your dealer. More then likely the wrong fender was put on your bike. :nixweiss:
