Removed the tour-pak after our ride last night. Took about 15 minutes to take eveything apart. This was the first time I did it, so I would think the time to disassemble will go down with practice. The part number for the detach kit is 53246-09. I went with the Badlander seat, all the wires tuck in easily under the seat. The only thing I do not like is the detachable hardware seems a little out of place with the tour-pak off. I'm picking up the covers from HD to go over the docking points to maybe help this (part number 48171-09). Laydown license plate bracket is HD. Saddlebag guards are removed for a cleaner look. Hawg-wired amp and component speakers took care of the amp issue under the tour-pak.

Resized the photo for you, to fit on the screen.  You want to resize them to about 800x600 in order to fit on the screen.

That's a really nice looking bike without the tour pack.

The Kuryakn curved license plate frame would really clean up the tail end of that bike.........

Completed the latest upgrade to the CUSE. Installed CFR slip-ons over the weekend. Next is the Race Tuner and air cleaner, along with a chrome inner primary.

Hi I am new to forum Terra (Dale) I just purchased new 2009 screamin eagle CUSE and want to do just what you did except make the tour pak detachable or is yours? Heard could be a lot of problems with bushings on mounts cracking? Your antenna move quick release or not for radio? Did it look like crap with heated original seat left on bike why you went to badlander seat? thanks for your help or any advise...dealer here in Luisville did not want to mess withit due to amp...wanted to put in side saddlebag and drill hole...did not want that done to bike!

Nice lawn.  Oh yeah, the bike looks awesome too.  It would be nice if they came detachable from the factory, but as it is, it looks too pricey to do all of that, especially after I just got done with all the wiring to change the lighting in the tourpack.  I'd like the option to remove it, but I had a removable on my last bike and I only took it off twice and missed the space immediately.

I took my bike in to have the tour pack removed and much to my chagrin, the local HD dealer said it would take nine hours and I would definitely lose my radio if I removed the power amp.  At $90+ / hour plus parts, I said no.  I did not feel very encouraged with their willingness to do the job.  Then they said there was not a parts kit for the SE so it cannot be done without great effort.   :confused5:

I may do this myself.  After all the great pics here, I sure like the look and dropping the weight when I don't need the tour pack would also be a big plus.  I am, let's say, very dissappointed.   >:(

Don't be disappointed in that dealer he just blessed you with a lot of money to buy accessories with (and not at their dealership ;)). :2vrolijk_21:

This is easy to do, I did it myself, if I can anyone can!  I took my time and completed the job in a weekend.  At same time I also installed the Hawg Wired plug/play amp/speakers.  Only diff between the 09's and 08's is the detach hardware, so I say go for it!.

I have had no problems with my bushings. My antennae is now inside the fairing (tune trapper). Yes, the bike without the tour-pak does not look right at all with the couch seat on it. It needs to have a lower profile seat to complete the look, in my opinion. Sorry about your dealer not helping you out. I have posted the labor I was charged in an earlier post.

I have added the Kuryakyn curved license plate, laydown tail light lens, forged billet air cleaner cover with S.E. 110 medallion, race tuner and Klock werks flare windshield since last pics. I'll post pics tomorrow. Bike ran great in Daytona. Couldn't be happier.

Excellent post guys - has anyone summarized the part number required?  Do I need to purchase the 70032-09 relocation harness if I am going to remove the CVO amp and go with something in the fairing?  Any updated pix? :worthless:

No drilling required. The holes are already there from the reflector. I just needed to ad a small LED for the license plate light. The monster Ovals arrived and left the same day. I had already ordered the CFR's and after hearing and seeing the Monster ovals on someone elses bike they were not what I wanted and I already had the others coming.
Now I just need to figure out which header to use. I am leaning toward V&H new power dual. Then the super sert and my zippers max flow air cleaner.
Nice job on plate, what is the Kury. part number, thanks in advance.
