You know I ran into H-D's East Coast Sales Manager at a 105th party at Big Moose H-D in Maine. The dealership had a big full color brochure of the entire CVO line-up. I don't recall ever seeing such a nice brochure devoted to just the CVO's. It's like the ones the dealers used to have for the entire line-up. Anyway, I had sat down over a burger and soda and poured over the pictures. I was awestruck with how much the CVO Road Glides resembled the discussions we'd had on this forum about what we all dreamed of the MoCo making. When I met the guy from the MoCo, I told him about the site and said, " It's obvious you guys log onto our website because the 09 Screamin Eagle Road Glide is everything we all dreamed of " He played coy, but I could tell he was fully aware of CVOHarley.com. He thanked me for the compliment and we talked about the bike for awhile because Big Moose did not have one on the showroom floor. He gave me some insight into how it came to be what it is, and one of the things he mentioned is how the owners of the orginal 4 CVO Road Glides all complained of the heat issue with the lowers. Given the lengths H-D went to in 09 to address heat on the rider's and passenger's legs, I can see why they would leave off the lowers. As to not having a tour-pak, he mentioned because I said I was from the San Diego area that the biggest design cue on the 09 SERGs is the slammed look that comes from the Low-Rider cars and a lot of the slammed down baggers you see in SoCal. Anyway, the old saying "be careful what you wish for" certainly applies here. It would seem we got the bike we wished for. Now if we wish to change it, it's up to us. For my own sake, IF , I am lucky enough to buy an 09 SERG, it's not getting any lowers or a TP.
Just my $0.02
