I tried taking one of the finned bridges off and painting it black and then the charcoal over top.  No difference in color.  I seem to be the only one that notices how much lighter in color the bridge is, or noone is mentioning it anyway.  Unless the can I bought had the wrong lid on it, I'm thinking that I'll see if the Harley paint is available.  If not, I'll just leave it alone and forget about it.  Again, that area of the bike is normally in the shadows anyway.

I did find a shortcut tonight.  Rather than using thinner to clean the paint off the shiny edges, I just used the edge of some coarse sandpaper and it took care of those edges in about 2 minutes total.

Funny thing about Spray paint is that many stop shaking when they hear the ball rattling. This is when you really start shaking it. at least one minute past hearing the ball. automotive finishes should be longer, maybe 2 minutes.
Another way to tackle the edge detail is, Once you get the bridge set ready to paint, take a q-tip and Vaseline and coat the out edges. Spray, let dry, wipe off, put Vaseline back where it belongs.

I shook it extremely well...beyond the 2 minute mark.  But wait, I'm not having any conversation with you while you're holding a jar of vaseline.

Someone may want to try this paint, 98606CTN, it's Harley's Granite paint. I have have not checked with my steeler yet to see if it's available.

I was able to get this paint and it was a perfect match! Looks like it was made for the 110.

If you want it to match the engine, get this paint! :2vrolijk_21:

Yes, it's the a spray can the size of a Rustoleum can, I don't remember the price.  :confused5: I think it was around $15.00.

NOT CHEAP BUT IT'S A PERFECT MATCH!

I just called the dealer and ordered.  They wanted $21.95 for a can.  It came up in the computer by the part # listed above as "aerosol granite".

Sounds right, 20% off and you get ~$17, like I said pricey, but a perfect match.

At the price of an '09 SEUC, I wasn't about to skimp on the paint! :2vrolijk_21:

Brinks:
I wanted to thank you personally for the paint reccommendation. The HD Granite Hi Temp paint matched perfectly. I could not be happier with the results. So much bang for the buck.

If you don't buy your parts from Jenni, you might want to check with her before your next purchase!
