How about just going after you've waited the time for an extra cycle or two?  Always worked for me.

I've done it when a bored cop was nearby.  Wave.  Got his attention.  Pointed at the light.  He sees you sitting on your ass waiting.  It's all good.

They actually make a device that fits to the bottom of your bike. I believe it is a magnet of some sort. They were talking about it a few years back at the local dealer. I will need to ask about this again, and Will post something on it when I have MY MEMORY updated.

South Carolina passed a law this year, it's legal to turn left on red after waiting 2 mins. and clear os traffic. ( I think the final time is 2 mins. )

I have turned on many left turn red light signals (on my motorcycle) in my years and never had any issues with tickets. If the light is stuck i go, every time.

I've never had much trouble with traffic lights.  I always try to position the bike over the sensor in the concrete/asphalt - the light usually changes as if I was in a cage.
If I am by myself and I have to set through more than one cycle, I check traffic (and for cops) and go when it's safe.

Have one on my KLR, they are rare earth magnets - save your $$ the don't work.  I have it correctly mounted and oriented and the KLR just doesn't have the mass to trip the induction loop.  The SERK does, much more metal then my KLR.

NC allows you to break the red after 3 mins...but who the hell knows when you got there.  Suppose if there was a PO sitting there I would wait the 3 mins, but the rest of the time I check around, make sure I am not gonna be T-boned and scoot out.

Trippin the lights? I think ya'll are trippin!!! :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

We don't have that here. Everything's on timers. No right on red except when signed. During the day, wait for lights!!! Later at night, FTL!!! ;D ;)
