Bought the bike in the last weekend of Jan 07, was registered by the dealer. Finally rode it in April 07 for the 1st time. Riding with my brother in law yesterday. He was a good ways behind me when we passed a town cop with someone pulled over. When I passed, trooper pulled out and blocked traffic so the car he had pulled over could enter traffic. I turned on my 4 ways and went to the shoulder to allow the car and trooper to pass so my Bro in law could join me again. Cop pulled in behind me and turned lights on. Asked for license and registration and wanted to know why I pulled over. I told him he cut off my riding buddy and I was trying to get us back together. He ran my registration and it came up expired (4/07). I've got 11,000 miles, almost every mile I've ridden, on an EXPIRED REGISTRATION. I told him I never check the sticker and rely on the DMV to send the renewal in the mail. My only guess is that my registration renewal wasn't mailed since the DMV received mine from the dealer as the mailing window expired. Every mile I've put on the bike in the last 18 months has been without a vaild registration.
He let me off with a warning telling me he was doing me a huge favor since the fine doubles every 3 months.

I went directly to my brother's house a short distance away to register online. Couldn't do it, said I had to go in person. I hope I only get charged for the current registration and not, somehow, the 18 months I wasn't registered. CHECK YOUR STICKERS EVERYONE!
