This is just my opinion on this issue and of course it's open to being completely shredded

I noticed with the 07's the oil lines to the cooler were jammed hard up against the voltage regulator

And this continued with the 08's. Perhaps when they did the complete redesign on the 09's this had been identified as an area needing attention.

Cuse3's hoses are in the way, but not in front like that one.  No pics - bike is at home.  Wiped bugs & salt spray off mine early this morning & no hose like that one in that spot.

HD too cheap to spend $.28 for a few more inches of hose to bury it somewhere better?

The 04-05 SEEGs were well hidden.  Short hoses with a quick 90 degree turn.  They had an unfortunate habit of occasionally blowing off or rubbing on the frame though.  Might be why they changed them later.

The position of either hose is not well thought out.  Looks kind of bad as others have stated.   For as great as the new CVO's look, the hose(s) are definitely out of place.

Looks like one of you 09 owners will have to come up with something better as you can't rely on the MOCO .

Mine are in the way of the oil filter.  They have to be moved aside a little to remove it.  Never have blown off.

Realize the space there is small & a lot of stuff has to happen to make the oil cooler work, but it's a poor design on my 07.  On the 09's it's awful.

HD should look at something very different here - a frame mounted cooler with fins maybe?
