Hog Membership....
« on: August 05, 2005, 12:57:22 PM »

I thought with the purchase of an SEEG you not only got a 2 year warranty, but also a 2 year Hog memebership...

I received notification mine was expiring. Of course I'll renew whether it's on Harley or not, but I thought we got that little perk...

I only got one year added to mine. Hopefully the paperwork the dealer sent in will get in the right hands.

I already was a lifer so I didn't get squat.  Never messed with the local chapter though.  Just didn't want to get hassled at any state or national HOG sponsored rallies I might choose to attend.  Guess it's kind of like being baptized Lutheran.  You're covered for just about anything later on.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Both Mr and I are lifers. When buying a new bike and HD could not apply the funds towards another year membership in National HOG we got a chrome points certificate for the same amount in the mail.  Nice tip.   [smiley=laugh.gif]

The dealership sent in the form for a one year extension, and since I had about 8 months to go, I called HOG and asked if they would credit that towards my life membership.  HOG said yes... So, now I'm a lifer, and I don't have to buy a new bike every year just to keep my membership current....   whew!

Unless something has changed you only get a one-year free HOG membership when you purchase a new bike (no matter if it's a CVO or not). When I purchased my "Pumpkin" in July of 04 all I was given was a year extension to my current membership. You will have to make the dealer that you purchased your new bike from aware that you are a present member of HOG and provide your membership #, otherwise they may enroll you as a new member. As a past chapter officer I've only heard of the one year extension for purchase of a new bike.

Something you may not be aware of, and what may save you a few dollars. If you have been a consecutive member (can't remember the exact amount of years, I'm thinking 3 - 5 years) for certain amount of years you can contact HOG and make them aware of this, and get a discount on your life membership price.

I too got one year paid for by HDMC.  If they would have given me a Discounted Life Membership rate for buying my CVO.  I would have done it when I bought the bike.  I don't plan on selling this machine and I have put way to much money (add ons you know Chrome stuff, Tour Pak & Saddle Bag Brake Lights, Kuryakyn Brake & Turn Light System,  Freedom Pipes & Power Commander,  and so much more).  We might be CVO owners, but I think we are all treated like red headed stepchildren to HDMC.  We took a beating and paid what we paid to buy these CVO's.   Just because we all wanted the best - I don't think there are any better motorcycles out there.
Yes, it would have been nice to get something more than a gold key in a box.  Maybe it with be better for the 2006 CVO's owners.  But, I still love my bike to death and I can't wait to get on it and ride it home tonight.  Hope I don't B&M too much, but we all should have gotten more than one year.

Yours showed up in a box!  Mine showed up in a baggie, and I had to fight for it, 'cause the dealership wasn't going to give it to me at all!   What's the box look like?  was it cool?
