My 05 and 07 both fit the bike they came with and the dealer asked to get them back during the trade.

Oh well, I kind of liked the blue color, but you were correct.  The protective coating came off and it looks like they are all the same. So how can they say that are distinctive one of a kind appearance if they are all the same?

Your key code cut would make it fairly unique but you really gotta be lookin' to see that!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  The distinctiveness is that it fits your bike...at least for most of us.

The stitching on the pleather case is unique.

Okay, the question that nobody asked Kinka1...just on the chance...what country is your bike from?  There's a label on the outer box that says this key is for decoration only except in the US and Canada.  Just a thought.

I'm still upset that my key is not unique and one of a kind.  I want my money back.  Isn't that false advertising or something?

I guess that solves that question.  This was a label on the outer cardboard box, that the pleather case slides out of.  I would have probably tossed it in the trash by now, if I hadn't just pulled the key out due to this thread.  Since it's just a cardboard sleave with the part number and barcode on it, maybe you threw that away immediately.  But anyway, now we know why your key doesn't work in your bike.

Wow, after being switched from a Newbie to a Junior Member, within hours I actually solve a problem.  No wonder I got promoted so quickly.  LOL

That special key is what cost most of us about 3 grand over list.  Personally, I would place it next to your dashboard Jesus, and just enjoy the vibes it sends out.

The best part is that it won't start your bike.  (you won't have to worry about theft). :)

Polish it once a year with Brasso, and just "let it be".

Remember, if you don't know lever A, then leave 'er B.

Wow!  I paid less than MSRP...but of course I got milked on my trade-in, so they still got me one way or the other.

You're lucky!  I got milked on my trade in, AND my 3 grand over MSRP.  My dealer told me that the reason I had to pay so much is that I was getting the ONLY anniversary Ultra CVO that Black Hills HD was getting.

I guess the other two I saw on the floor room were only figments of my imagination.   :nixweiss:

I had to pay 13 Gs plus the trade in of my '06 USE bike.

I figure the MSRP had gone up about 3 Gs, so the depreciation of my trade in was $10,000.  (Of course it was a year and a half old when I traded it in.)   :huepfenjump3:

My '07 Road King Classic was only 1 year 3 months old when I traded it.  I only got $17,000 for the trade, which sounds fine until you know that I had about $32,000 into it.  Here's a photo...it was one sweet bike and I will miss it.
