Well - After some great advice from you all at CVOHarley.com - I am now the proud owner of a 2004 B+B - I will take some pics (in the garage) since it is cold and snowy in Illinois to post. It took me around 8 hours to clean it up yesterday. I am not sure why someone would spend $29,000 on a bike and NEVER EVER wash it ! There are a few minor nicks on the bike nothing serious.

 have found a front wheel on ebay for a reasonable price and am planning on changing tires when I have the front wheel changed. Any reccomendations on tires, maybe Metzler ?

Also has any installed the Bub 7 slip ons on the 103 and are you happy with sound performance ?

I've continued to run the OEM tires.  The quality has come way up from what they were years ago.  You can get a stickier tire (metzler) but it's really not necessary on these heavy bikes unless you're riding on a track.  I'm a very agressive rider and the OEM work just fine and I like the mileage that I'm getting from them.  JMHO

That is an understatement! I run the Metzler ME880's and am very pleased, even Lil-Bit noticed the smoother ride and cornering. Still couldn't keep up with JC on my best day though.

I stay with the Dunlops too. Better wear and on these bikes,they ride and handle just fine. Enjoy!

I disagree about the handling and pathing of the factory Dunlops vs. the Metzlers.   In florida we have rain grooves in the roads such as on i-4 and the dunlops do not handle those types of roads very well.   The metzlers handle them much better and imo handle much better when cornering.  Although I would not just change a front tire, I would change both.   If you are stuck on Dunlop try the elite 3's.

I run the Dunlop E3's on both bikes.  There is no comparison between them and the stock Dunlops!  The E3's have a nicer ride, don't get caught in the rain grooves, handle much better, and I haven't gotten any worse wear than the stock tires (10K on the rear).

I have to gree with Unbalanced Harry and Ernie on not running the stock 402's..  I have the 880's and they are great tires.  The Elite 3's are supposed to handle the same as the 880's with "maybe" a little more tire wear mileage.  You can't blame Dunlop on the 402's as they built them to Harley's specs..

I use the 880's, very satisfied. If you have grooves in the road as Harry mentioned the 880's are a significant improvement.

Better in the rain and better in the grip department, wear depends on how you ride obviously. I found the wear to be a bit less then the stock, but that is to be expected with a "grippier" tire

I agree with the tire selection and of course the bike.  It is still one of the best Screaming Eagles you can ownt

I wouldn't sell mine 2004 FLHTC-SE B/B.  She has taken me to Mexico, Sturgis, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Columbia Gorge, San Luis Obispo, Solvang,  California and Oregon Coast via HWY 1 and every stop in between even a trip to Honey Dew  and the Lost Coast of California.
Things I have done to my 2004 are I added the King Tour Pak in the solo position as shown in the picture below taken while I was doing the History Trek in Eureka.  She is set up with a Screaming Eagle 6 Speed, Exhaust by Rhinehart True Dual with an Arlen Ness Big Sucker for more air flow with my customized mapping.  I went through the front end using heavier springs and Gold Value and to the rear I went with Works Shocks.  I also added a True Traxx to stabilizer the rear end.   I changed out the front brakes with PM 6 piston calibers and 13in full floating rotors.  For looks I added a chrome inner primary and Arlen Ness billet handgrips.   Metzlers is my tire of choice and Corbin makes all my seats.

hey ms. tedi...  looks like you did your homework on that b/b of yours.  I have the same bike and I love mine as well. 40,000  miles and I still have that same smile on my face like the day I rode it home from Cleveland Ohio to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Like you, I did many of the same upgrades and worth (almost worth) every penny. Nice job!

Ok - I can not wait to get it out for a ride. There is talk of 50 deegrees on Sunday, so if it does not rain I will give her a test run. Heritage Harley in Lisle is picking the bike up Wednesday and changing out the front rim with a new detonator wheel I found on ebay from Saddleback Harley in Utah, also new tires, and 10,000 mile service and I should have it back before Christmas. Any other issues I should have the dealer look at while it is in? I have noticed posts about the compensator nut needing tightening. Now I have to sell a 2008 Rocker C and decide what I should do with my 2005 Road King ( that I have invested too much in ) - I hate to sell it in this economy since the market in this area is oversaturated I will take a beating on it. Anyone need a Rocker C for $17,000
