LarryB, what I want to know is this: How many beers did you have to drink before you were willing to take that picture?

It's 26 degrees and sunny here.  I've got to get ready for a ride.  It's supposed to make it into the 40's today.  You know it's bad when you get excited about 40 degree weather.

Got the stock mount off and just waiting for the K delivery.  Are there only two wires on the new bracket?  Hope the new one positions just right because there was a pretty deep scratch under the stock plate.

Yes, only two wires on the Kuryakyn piece.  You can attach it by installing connectors or solder it and cover with shrink wrap.  It's not like you're ever going to take it off.  The Kuryakyn does not position itself.  You decide where to put it.  The top of the bracket should just cover the electrical hole in the fender.  Then it will still cover the lower indentation in the fender which I think accommodates a medallion on other models.

Strange there would be a scratch.  If it made it through the paint.  Touch it up with something, even clear nail polish so it does not rust.  Can't wait to see the pictures!

put your fears to rest. I took my side cover to auto zone or advanced or simliar and found that Dupli Color #TY01602 lunar mist metalic scratch & fix matches great. now I'm not saying this will do for a re-paint but it matches great for small touches.
couldn't help myself

I just read an article about this guy that gets paid $1000/model to paint the bodies of nude models for Carnival in Brazil.  What a job!  The line forms behind me.

Greg, got the plate frame this morning.  Now I can see what you were taking about.  I will definitely drill the mounting plate.  The scratch is a non issue and it's fixed already (thanks Larry).  As I hold it to the fender and look at the positioning options, I take it that you ran your wires back through the original hole.  When you stand at the rear fender looking straight down, can you still see a small part of that hole and the wires?  I know you made your own backing (tape) and wondered if any part of the hole was a problem.....Oh....another UPS truck.....that must be baffles from Steve.  This is getting more like Christmas morning all the time......Thanks Greg

I hear ya in the xmas morn thing, we got our new FXRG midweights last nite, slept in them. :2vrolijk_21:
Yes, you can see the hole and wire looking down at it. I positioned myself behind the bike and viewed as if I was just admiring someone elses bike and judged accordingly. Had Mi Esposa :kiss2: hold the frame and raise/lower it till it lined up, covering that hole and the back of the support bolt below. just find the sweet spot.. Be sure to use a center punch before you drill anything. My bet was the fender, very easy.
