Thanks, guys. Chris--- that sounds great, but does that mean we have to have rules and stuff?! You can be sec/treas in charge of things.

Not the best shot, but Vans family. They are smart, beautiful, and fun to be around, true fine family.

Hey Van, I typed 2005 Screamin Eagle in Google search last week and you video was the first link! Cool
 See you Sunday.  Dave

Looks good to me!  Hey Van , I was out for a ride on Sat and stopped by your La Grange place, all chained up and no one home.   :( I did have a HUGE Tri Tip sandwich for you in the saloon though.  Yum  :)

you guys have some great garages, but sure doesn't look like much work gets done in them.

you guys have some great garages, but sure doesn't look like much work gets done in them.

I've been going to reply to this for over a week now.  Yes, there are some VERY NICE garages/man caves shown here.  In one of the pictures not too far above this, I did see a MIG welder on a cart.  So some work was being done in that cave.

I can just imagine what would happen in some of these when you have the torch lit and the ole carbon is flying.  After using a torch for 40 years I'm somewhat past the carbon flying around a lot, but turds occur and sometime it happens.  Not to mention all the grinding smoke and dust that gets about 2" deep up your nose for about a week.  I can see the hot metal slag falling from a piece of steel being torched in the vise and onto the nice tile floor...  I have found grinding dust on my wife's SUV 20' away.  I dust it before she sees it though.  :o

My workshop up in Michigan was a 28'x32' all white drywalled with a sealed floor.  Boy do I miss having that workshop.  After three hot rods and some paint work, my ceiling had brown streaks for every truss where the grinding dust and smoke stuck to the ceiling.  After a few years the white was now sandstone in color...

My buddy up there had the best of three worlds.  He had a "work" grinding painting area partitioned off, 30'x40', with a garage door going into his main assembly area with a side post hoist to boot.  The work area had a room for paint mixing and it also had a super clean media blaster setup in that room too.  You just didn't blast while painting...  The assembly area was about 40'x40' and then out the front he added on with a little office area with his TV, desk fridge, sofa or two and all his John Force collectables.  You could go out and make a mess cutting, grinding and painting in his "work" area and just sweep it up.  In fact that area is where my painter painted my black '40 Willys coupe for me.  I then took all the parts back to my place about 1/4 mile away for assembly.

So I would like to say, NICE JOB, to the guys that have posted their pictures here.  I would really like to have a place like these, but for right now I'll keep a somewhat neat 3 car garage with my wife using one stall for the SUV.  The rest for me is parking and work area.  With 2-1/2 bikes now, I need some space for parking and I'm still working on the 1/2 bike.  OK, I'm not working on it again yet, but I do plan to get back at it soon.

Here in St. Louis last weekend we hit just over 80 degrees and if you weren't dead, you were riding.  We get some nice weather around this time of year so getting to work in the garage on the bike is the last thing I'm thinking about.

Thanks to all for posting pictures.  Believe me, you don't want to see mine man cave...  ;D  ;D  ;D
