Mikey,
Those were great photos......!!!
Just remember UPS is 3 day ground and the first day doesn't count....lol....so really it's 4 days from the day it's handed to UPS...thus 4 day ground.....when you get it back to me isn't as critical as you getting it there.....
As far as:
".....how did you get the kotter key out of the back of the clevis pin ......"Well that was done back in 2005 so my memory is a bit short.....photos are "fresh" though.....lol.....to answer your question.....perhaps sheer "strength" lol!!!!!
You know there is something to be said if you're using an A/C that's allowing "blow by" to go back into your cylinders.....
That looks like you had about a "CC's" worth of carbon there.....
From those photos you could really see the lower rocker box gaskets had met their day.....the metal ones that are one piece will really be nice.......Now I will say one thing that may spark some disagreement.....but I did choose to use "HYLOMAR" HPF on the bottom rocker box gaskets....as a sealer....that is basically discussed in the other thread......if you desire to acquire this product allow yourself some time....you can get it on line....but you need the "advanced" formula that will not shrink since the "advanced" formula is not "solvant" based....I can provide a LINK to the website if interested....it comes out of Houston, TX so it takes a couple of days to get to you if so desired.....3 oz tube is $30.00 which will last you a life time.....but as I recall your not as old as rocks....so maybe it won't last your life time.....I know there is some debate about the logic of doing so.....but all I can say is that when you study the tech sheets about the product, it's made to be used in just that manner....and at the end of the day lol well at the end of nearly 1400 days still no leaks....lol.....remember what I shared with you about "Valve Seals" right now only $4.00.....while you are waiting and in no rush....later well....you get the drift.....
Howie....this isn't rocket science for sure....it's only life and death....LOL.....

and last I checked there were some that lost their lives on them there rockets...over some "o~rings"....But I know what you were saying and your intention.....
The true test of anyone's shade tree skills is who's first to volunteer for the maiden voyage....

Regards,
Tim
