Was told today that dealers make 20% on cvo bikes that are sold for msrp................   I thinking they will soon be selling them for 15% below msrp...

And 20% has not been good enough for most of them - wanting $000 over msrp.

Bob here is a 06 Phaze just traded on a 09 SERG. It has 27K miles on it and does have a 6 speed.

I would think you would be looking at at least 27,000 on a trade with only 10K miles on it.
I went by today to see what they would want to trade Elvis in on a silver SERG, they have 4 shipping in this quarter but all are already sold. (Thank God)
Mark, if you are really about to succumb I bet we can find one for you, lol.

I would believe that, i bought mine for $25,765 and I think msrp on mine was about 29,800.  So he still made a little money, but not much.

This is looking better and better for 2010.  I so hope it's going to be a SEEG or SESG.

I finally had the time to go into my dealer this afternoon to do a deal. They still had the SERG and I let them know I was serious about making something work. They came back with an offer of 22k for my CUSE against 31k for the SERG. Bottom line they wanted $9600 out the door. Needless to say I didn't do the deal. If they'd have dropped 3 grand off the asking price, I'd be out riding a new SERG right now. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be. They'd have made a couple thousand on the new bike and could have scored another couple pretty easy on my CUSE. Anybody out there want to buy a really nice CUSE?

They offered you $22k and in another thread, Screaminchick is asking $23.9. I guess this is where the market is today. I wonder if the six speed and 110" of the '07+ are a big contributing factor to the value or just the 3 year age?

Unfortunately for us, most dealers want Full price for their bike and want to give us Wholesale.  IMO, if they offer us wholesale for ours, they need to discount theirs.  Rarely happens for us it seems with a Harley dealer.  They want to make a killin on the new bike and a killin on the used bike when they sell it.
I'm not surprised at the $22K on the 06 as 05's are now under $20,000..     :soapbox:    :cherry:

Bob, I don't know what a 2005 SEEG went for new. I'd be real interested to know. What I would really like to know is what the depreciation rate is. The '05 is now four years old. How does that hold up to the typical auto depreciation? I would think that a Harley would hold it's value longer that a car or boat.

I do not remember exactly but I think the MSRP for the 05 was 29,995 for the 49 State and 30,500 for the Cali bikes

Let's call MSRP $30k & current value $20k for the '05 for ease of argument's sake. That's a $10K depreciation over 4 years or $2500/yr. So by that philosophy an '06 should be  about $22.5K which is about what I said, I think ???
