As long as this thread is about cams, I feel obligated to at least mention the cam adjustment for the spring tension on the skidframe. So there you go!

Negotiating with Mother Nature:
One of the golden rules is to never drop into something that you can’t climb back out of. This may seem obvious, as it should, but this is often where a bad outdoor experience begins. This sequence of 8 illustrates a cautious approach to the edge of an abyss before dropping into it.

It’s a bust, folks; not going to happen; spin the sleds around. This is where the experience and maturity of middle age keeps you from charging off into a bad, but memorable outdoor experience.

The camera man goes first laying down a beautiful 4+ foot trench with the business end of a 162” x 16 x 2.25 track, driven by a 170hp Rotax twin. The two roost piles at the beginning of the trench is where the throttle was initially opened, and the snow displaced from the trench. Both piles are about 4 feet deep. The shelves at the top where the skis rode up had to be knocked down before the others could come through.

Howie, here are sage words of advice from someone with only limited experience snowmobiling.  Go around the trees.  It works SO MUCH better.

Wouldn’t we get into some kind of trouble if we sent a Hoistsicle back to Momma Hoist? Hell, this place would turn into a ghost town site.

You know when I previously mentioned the thing about the maturity and experience keeping you out of trouble?? I’m not gettin’ that from you, Hoist.....actually, you’d be fine; a little chilled, but fine; although you wouldn't be able to wipe the smile from your face.
