Greetings from Pacific Northwest Washington
« on: December 18, 2008, 01:57:56 AM »

I have been lurking for 2 months and decided to break my silence. October 1st my order was submitted for the 09 Ultra CVO Ruby Red Typhoon Maroon, anticipated shipping date at the end of March. 1st time Harley owner so yes I am a virgin ;D
I have lots of nervous thoughts if this was a good decision but in the end I hope it works out, after doing lots of reading on this forum I have doubts if this was the right decision and also with the economy in the tank. This is a big ticket item so I have high expectations of having a trouble free touring bike, it is alot of cash to pay down for a motorcycle and I had alot of influence from close friends and the wife that this was the one to buy so we will see. This truly is a beautiful machine and I do not have a true feeling of what it really looks like until I see it in person. I guess I could back out of it if I really wanted to if things get worse with the economy and job loss and fearful of my own job security.
I love riding motorcycles and try to ride year round, I have an 08 Kawa KLR650 that I use for commuting to work rain or shine, my intention is to drive this Ultra CVO the same way but I have a nagging feeling once I see this machine I am not going to want to ride it in the rain and get it dirty, if I am going to spend this kind of money on something I am going to use it, in the Pacific Northwest if you are going to wait till it quits raining before you ride you won't be riding much. My wife wants to ride with me on nice days and really wanted me to get it. My HD buddy told me after you get done with the break in period "ride it like you stole it" ;D
Anyway I look forward to chatting with this forum family and look foward to hearing from you all...cheers :drink:

Welcome from Djibouti. Great to have you here. Love to ride up there. Stationed there for almost 5 years and hated leaving. Congrats on the Ruby Red, I really like those colors.

Welcome aboard from Minnesota, the land where we don't have a choice to ride all winter. Don't let a little (or a lot) rain stop you. Enjoy the anticipation of getting the new scoot and once you have it ride like the wind!

Owning a new Harley is one of the greatest feelings there is, Especially a CVO.
I know you will enjoy it immensely.
