Hi wbrinker,

That part is obsolete,,, gotta wonder why,,, not on the MoCo Parts + Accessories website anymore.

Nevertheless, the part is available,,, just saw a "new in the box" on another hdforum,,, also saw one from a website ($411)

Not sure what else is needed,,, wiring harness? switch?

Why hasn't the MoCo offered replacement?

It'd be nice to have it go through the HK unit.

I'll check back in a few days to see who replies.

If you can find one, the unit should work on the HD radio as the radio has not changed. Also there are some web sites still offering the BT module, only because these sites are to lazy to update. I have been watching EBay for a few months to see if i can pick up a standby unit but not luck there.

the wire harness is still available though,

I put one on my 09 flhtcuse4.  I placed it under the faring, not in the tourpac.  Works Great!   Chris

Thanks Chris, I think the real challenge will be in finding one, they are scarce.

01NK, I would be interested, why don't you PM me with what you're looking for and where you'll be shipping it from.

Thanks

Take some advice from someone who has been there, Do NOT put the BT unit under the fairing. The unit is NOT weather proof. This was a $500 error on my part! Stick it in the TP and you'll thank me later.

Hi,
There are still some dealers in the UK with these units on the shelf, but they are goin fast.
I have just finished installin mine today, I have put it in the TP, but behind the pillion not between the hinges as it says in the instructions. There is a cable from the TP light between the hinges and 2 stiffening ribs, which just protrude enough to stop the mounting pads from making a secure fix to the BT Box. Back walls good, but it does require you to cut a square out of the liner.
Also I found that TP lighting cable was running through the grommet suggested for the new BT harness. You can fiddle it through as well, but you will need to cut the tie wraps off, then put new ones on once you have got it through.
Have fun.
Nick.

Hello.

I did install this part on my 2009 FLHTCU. I needed an extra wire harness to do so (around $100). The Bluetooth is obsolete and no more sold from HD. I was unable to have the Garmin Zumo 660 GPS commands to come out of the bike speakers or the helmet speakers as well. I don't think it was originally meant to do so.

I understand HD put out a Road Tech Navigation Interface Module that would just do that, but unfortunately not if you installed the original HD BT Advanced Audio Hands Free Cell Phone Kit (Bluetooth).

Question is: do I remove the original HD Bluetooth and install the Navigation Interface module and get better use of the Zumo? I will have to think about that.

the NIM won't work with a regular Zumo 660, only with a Road Tech.

While I love my original BT module, the technology has changed enough that it has become obsolete. Unless you are using an older GPS, I would stick with the Road Tech and NIM as Kraut mentioned.
