Well folks, were just about to the end of this adventure. I was fortunate enough today to have Paul (zn14) a.k.a "Tha Z-Man" call me today and extended his expertise and help in re jetting my stock carb. Gents; Paul knows carbs; he guided me thru all the steps required to replace my 42 jet with a 45 jet and in replacing the stock jet needle with a stock needle out of the carb of an 88 XLH. as it turned out it was a piece of cake with Paul's help; any worries or concerns of my screwing it up were soon dispelled. I was impressed with his knowledge and ability. Some of you who have done this before may say, "Oh well, no big deal"; but, I say "BIG DEAL for me." A mechanic I ain't, not even the shade tree type. So, with that said; my hats off to Paul and also a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone on this thread who supplied their info, knowledge, expertise, and opinions. I guarantee all played a part in my getting this done.
Now, after putting the carb back on and getting everything back together; I kicked her over for the first time in a week a nd she fired up the first time. I took her down the road for about 5 minutes just running her through the gears and such and she did not miss a beat. Much better throttle response, no choking, coughing, spitting, back firring...Nothing but smooth running Harley...I BE HAPPY

. Gonna ride her as she is and see if she changes any; but I suspect she is good to go....THANKS again Paul ( A great guy) and all of you for your help...Blaine
