Sorry I never got me meet B B.  I have enjoyed quite a few of his quick witted remarks. :D  To Spiderman  :drink:
Ride safe brother. We will be here if you return.

I am glad I am not responsible for making decisions here.  It seems we just had this conversation in another thread.  And I am sure we will see it again.  Two things IMO almost everything is political.  You say A.. I say B.. - political.  In reality this site is not a democracy.  It is owned by one and moderated by several.  We are not voters here, we are visitors.  We all must abide by the decisions.  I am sure they are not taken lightly.  Be glad you are not making the decisions.  They are human they will be judgmentel and sometimes make a mistake.  Don't we.  It has to be that way.  The alternatives would be unbearable.

Principles are important, I can surely relate to that.  Unfortuneately, the principled man or woman takes a heck of a beating all thier life.  We always have something to say or are always defending something or someone.  The banters which ensue are sometimes pushed to the breaking point.

We have some other members here just as passionate as Spiderman.  I have grown quite fond of them and hope they can continue self descipline and refrain from pushing too far.  The price is almost too great to bear.

I too was like Spiderman all my life.  I too was so principled.  Some of the results have been regrettable some not.  The scars you carry in your heart and mind never leave you.  You see them everyday in the mirror.  I think the compassion and caring you have for your fellow-man can be too much to handle.  The weight can be unbearable and you can be broken.
I am not judging BB in anyway here.  I just would like him to know I feel his sorrow.  I hope he dosen't make life's load too heavy.  Life is way too Damn short.

Spiderman will be driving his Miata to Maine in the spring. He should stop by Naitrams and and work out the issues and rejoin the site-AK

What truly amazes me about this, is all of the people that want B B to stay on board. When I began my research before buying my Screamin Eagle, I visited several sites catering to Harley motorcycles. One in particular stands out in my memory. Over there, one member had left and all of the other members were bad mouthing him and saying "good riddance". That was it for me. I did not want to associate with people who would treat another member that way. That same day I found CVOHarley and have never looked back. I may have visited those other sites 5-6 times (max) since. This is my home.
Patriotism is different than politics. I have since learned what the comments were that caused the thread to be pulled from the original poster. Yes, they were political in nature. However, it was a valid comment and these things are just a fact of life. Current events happen every day and they affect all of us and those that we love. There are times when we need to get them off of our chest and this may be the only outlet for some of us to do that with like minded (ok, somewhat like minded) friends. The point is, that this place is like a group therapy session for some and people need a way to express themselves.
B B, I hope that you can find a way in your heart to return. I understand your conviction and admire it, but sometimes we have to make compromises for the good of the group. Likewise, I think there has to be a happy medium from our mods.

Well said.

I agree too AJ.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Brian.  I like that he comes into a thread, doesn't ask that you agree with him and lays it clearly on the line with conviction.  He's true to himself.  Brian, it's not compromising your integrity to come back, just your pride.

Melanie (my better half) belongs to a womens rider forum. Within it exists a private forum to which members have to be invited into, sign a waver etc. In this forum anything can be discussed, posted. Language, pictures etc are not regulated. I believe the only restrictions are that there is no personal bashing of another member and that nothing carries over to the regular forrum. Those who  do not get invited or those who do and decline, are not subject to personal opinions on religion, politics, sexual preference, nudity etc.
If a subject is allowed to be discussed here, then all opinions should be allowed. Just because an opinion is not mainstream does not invalidate it.
There needs to be an avenue here for an open discussion of a subject or the subject itself needs to be outlawed.
But that's just my opinion ;)

I read spiderman's comments and saw how he tried to weave them to the concept of patriotism and I came away feeling like he was trying to use some less than subtle code about the new president and it really bothered me and I am glad the moderators had the courage of their convictions and took his message string down. Everyone knows the rules of this site and they need to be respected. It's obvious he and maybe others did not like the outcome of the election. I didn't like the outcome the prior two election cycles. Too bad. Get over it and use this site for its' intended purpose.

I like ya Spiderman i really do. I have enjoyed your post throughout my tenor here.  But i got to tell ya, I agree with the rules of this forum. The owner set's the rules and moderators try to keep everyone in line. It's a tough job and i salute and respect them, or at least I try too anyway. Politics is a touchy subject, just as religion. There are plenty of forums one can go to out there to vent their opinions all they want.

I know some of us (including me) here have crossed the line and vented in the no zone and the modertors have tolerated a little bit. They also steep in when things get to far out of line. It reminds me of my kindergarten class, we always tested the teacher to see how far we could get, the teacher tolerated some but quickly put us in line when we got to far out. No different here, we're all grown up kids that enjoy and love this place :2vrolijk_21: I've crossed the line a few times myself and quickly got informed i was in danger zone and I quickly corrected myself. Knowing i am here as a member which agreed to follow the rules, i just quietly slapped myself and continued my journey here.

My point is, we have rules to live by here and occasionally when we cross the line and when we get reminded of such, we have to remind ourselves that we agreed to follow the rules when we joined this great place.

Spiderman, I've been in your shoes and know how you feel, but gosh darn it, we don't get our way all the time  :nixweiss:.. I would like to see you come back to this forum. You are a great asset here.

Congratulations....seems as though you've clearly turned this into a POLITICAL THREAD.

I can see both sides, I don't think Brian started that link as a political thread, just a call for us all to come together and work to bring our great country back to it's former glory. There are other links still out there that I would consider more political than this was. Anyway the moderators have to do what they think is correct, this is one of the few sites with out the usual BS rants and raves, probably why I like this site. Just like our country, not perfect, but still the best!

Brian, you need to come back, I was saving this picture for your birthday!
