simple solution. chnge to a custom seat. much better options to choose from. anyone that thinks any H-D stock seat is a keeper is missing out.

Agree with you Larry.  I just happened to fall in the trap by ordering the damn backrest already!

I'm gonna really have to replace it with a custom seat.......which my girlfriend is probably gonna love it!

Thx Larry.

you could sell it easily. With my Corbin, the backrest is nice but I find it rides just as comfortable without it. I have been searching other options for my Wife's upcoming upgrade to a Street Glide. She's not sold on the look of the new Corbin classic solo. Likes the smooth style of the "older" ones. Which brings LePera in focus.
I may just go for the Corbin and have it re-worked. Who knows, I need a break from mods after doing my Grey Ghost.

One of the problems with trying a different seat is finding one that gives you more comfort while sitting you back far enough.   Most optional MoCo and aftermarket seats like the Mustangs push you forward.  That's okay for the vertically challenged but for us folks that are around 6" with 32-34" inseams, it just doesn't cut it.

I've ordered the MoCo's new TallBoy seat.   They've redesigned it where it gives you about stock height and pushes you 2" back.  I assume they mean over the standard RG seat.  Since our seats are lower on the SERG, I'm betting ($237.80 from Zanotti) this will do the trick for me.

BTW, the 08 redesigned seats didn't have the slot for the rider backrest, the 09 seat does...PN: 52099-09

Just received my replacement seat from the dealer. It fits great no gap at all. It stay against the dash panel even when setting on the seat. Thank's for the heads up.

Well guys, I don't mean to try and rain on our parade.  Now that I've had my replacement seat for about 300 miles.  It's starting to separate again from the dash.  Thought I would let you know, to keep an eye out.  Let's Roll

That`s what i have guessed , they did not change anything at the seat , the MoCo just changed them without modifications , that`s ridicolous .  :-X

Having the gap problem over here too, it's visible when I ride the bike.
When I got the bike no problem at all but after 700km it's there.

I'll contact my dealer tomorrow.
