I took mine very quickly from standing start to just over 100 mph last week and didn't make it past 5th gear.  If I wouldn't have had traffic up ahead, I would say I had a lot of room left to go and still kick it to 6th.  Someday, I'll have to find that perfect highway to try it out.
The bike won't run faster in 6th than in 5th.

Ride safely,
Louis

It will ( i checked ) :

The SERG is definitely faster in the 6th gear .
At 5th gear and full throttle is nearly at the red limit of rpm ( 5000 1/min )but only about 192km/h ( 119,3 mph ) messured with the TomTom Gps ( the speedometer shows here about 205 km/h ( 127,38 mph ) .
limit on speedo is 220km/h ( 136,7 mph ).
At the 6th gear mine goes up to 212 km/h ( 131,73 mph ) by TomTom gps , speedo is here over the end allready .
Stock configuration and stock wind-deflector , heavy buffeting but perfect pressing on the street , fabolous .
I am looking forward the signature solo seat with rider backrest to hold the backpressure and to mount the CEE baileys 15" dark grey .
What a monster scooter , i just allways can repeat this .
This is not my every day kind of riding , but experiences have to be made , and this was one .
Rode about 355km ( 220 miles ) with nearly all the way by full throttle .
Result : 2 fully loaded gastanks are blown out . Ups .

In past years the 6th gear was always a ratio below 1, so technically you could not go faster, but at lower rpm's. Can you look up the ratios in your manual, because obviously you have the GPS data, so the Moco must have changed something here ...

I'll bet my '09 SEUC will run 200 km/h (GPS measured) after Dynatuning, but not more.

Ride safely,

What do you mean with ratio , what do i have to look at ?
( As i wrote : At 5th the red rpm level is reached with full throttle and speed 192km/h , at 6th rpm goes down and it runs to 212 km/h ) .
( I know that my 2007 Fatboy had run faster in the 5th than in the 6th , it allways seemed to me that the power from the engine is missing to push it faster in the 6th , but i have had no rpm-instrument there )

Geeezzz, I have a little 95 inch Deuce that tops out over 130.... and that is in 5th gear (also has a 7000 rpm redline...) Haven't had my 09 much over 100 and plan to keep it that way...

Louis, the old 6 speeds had a 0.89:1 true overdrive 6th, while the Cruise Drive is 1:1 in 6th.  However, that's not the ratio you need to look at, since they also changed the primary ratio to make 6th still work like the older overdrive.  The important ratio is the total overall ratio (primary x trans x final drive).  The overall ratio on the '07 - '08 bikes was too tall and killed performance in 6th, so H-D changed the final drive ratio in '09 with a different rear wheel sprocket.  So in theory, the '09 models should pull better in 6th than the earlier models.  However, decent acceleration is still going to require at least one downshift, or a long downhill, or a nice tail wind.

Thanks for the info Jerry ... I've been curious as to why my '09 pulls lower and better than my '08 did!!

HELLO KNOTHEAD

Did you miss post #99 in your thread?

Quote
I have a Road Glide that has been 142 with a GPS .

                                          OTIS

WTF?

Otis's post doesn't read like he spouting specs or just talking.
His SERG will back up his claim.
Since you only have 171 post I assume you must not know him or his bike but you ask "WTF" so I say read post # 99 in this thread.
Any of us that knows Otis or has been to any of the Eastern events knows that  his SERG can and will do what he says it will.
Any other questions?
