Remember JCZ, after 100 miles that motor needs to be worked.

I'm with ya 100% SERK103. My SEEG felt like everything was coming together at about 200 miles. I started hitting it a little harder then. Yesterday, at about 300 miles I took 'er up to 4700 R's @ about 110 mph. The bike was still pullin but I backed off. That was plenty fast for me with the wife on the back.

Suffice it to say, I'm definitely "ridin it like I stole it"!  [smiley=evilgrin.gif]

Maybe that's why the ole timers always told me to "break 'em in like you're gonna ride 'em". They always said the owners manual was written to "make it break soze you gotta take it in ta get it fixed" LOL!

Truth is .... That's the way I've always broke 'em in and I haven't had any trouble yet. Thanks for the link! It was MORE than informative!

Seems I always intended to do it by the book, but after an hour or so I just can't take it anymore, gotta go! I have not had any problems, in fact really never been back to the dealership with any bike for engine/drivetrain problems.

I'll never cop to not breaking a motorcycle in, according to the book.  Your honor I'm pleading "not guilty" and I rest my case. [smiley=laugh.gif]

My first ride on SEEG2 ...

The handling is spot on. This is my 3rd Electra Glide and I couldn't believe how good the set-up of the bike is. I am so glad that I bought a factory bike and not a custom like some of my friends. The steering geometry is spot on and it likes corners better than my previous Glides.

Before the bike arrived I was all for changing the suspension to raise it up 1 inch front and rear to replicate a standard glide. I have had the boards down once but I know feel that the factory knows best and I am sticking with stock suspension.

I was previously keen to change to Progressive 440s but I cannot agree that the ride could be improved. It is "Bob on" even riding two up. The bike just has a sportier feel to it than a stock glide.

I can only assume that you guys who have changed to Progressive 440s are chasing that "wet sloppy sausage feeling" that American cars have. Comments??????????

Tony ol' chap......The only "wet sloppy sausage feeling" I've ever noticed is in Jaguars',  a Bentley with bad shocks and the standard suspension on an HD FL series.

When you and Bob On are riding two up and your chasing that wet sloppy sausage feeling, you had better worry about what your Queen thinks instead of shocks.
