If you want the 2009 Ruby Red, have you tried searching for an unsold one within a reasonable driving distance from your home? I live in Nebraska...after searching for the same bike you want at the local dealers and all over the internet, I called a dealer in Chicago that had one on their website. I was willing to travel 500 miles to get it

. Turned out it was sold long ago but they hadn't updated their site (why would they, it generated my call, right). Anyway, the guy was very helpful and did a dealer locate for me and gave me a list of dealers in Nebr. and Iowa that had a ruby red one. After calling a few to find they too were sold, I ended up finding one at a dealer 60 miles from me that still had it unsold (they had a hold previously but that deal fell thru). I put a deposit on it over the phone, then ran down to see it the next day since I hadn't seen a Ruby one in person yet. After a few mods and a new front fender comes in (blemished from factory), I should have it in 2 weeks or so.
My local dealer (who has been very good in past) wouldn't even do for me what the Chicago guy did. I think they wanted the sale themselves. And they said in order to trade for a CVO they had to give a CVO in return, which they did not and would not have (until 2010 models).
Just my $.02. Good luck! Ruby Red Rocks!
